Description for Chevrolet C-10 1980
This Chevy C10 short-bed truck has patina to die for!!! I found this time-capsule truck for sale in North Carolina. The photos show this truck is a time-stopper, w/ 95% original paint exterior &100% original paint/upholstery and interior. Just look at the amazing rub marks on the hood and body, where years of rubbing wax created that picture-perfect patina!Owner was a elderly man who took incredible care of his beloved Chevy truck. He put plastic seat covers on the truck DAY ONE so condition of the green plaid seats is incredible! Jaw dropping! There are a couple small areas of floor board rot (non-active) from trapped water left undetected many years ago (this was common among these trucks, as insulation would trap h20 like a sponge) and some small holes in the rockers, all very EZ fix. My paint guy said about 1.5k to patch and match, so don't let this worry you. No need to do a thing as this is one seriously solid truck! I never had the work done, but if you want it perfect it won't take much!
Please let the pictures tell the story! Just looking at the images one can see that this rare Chevy C10 led a pampered life. In fact, I learned that the old fella who owned the truck used it mostly for work around his farm---hence the NC FARM TRUCK plates---and occasional trips to town for supplies and trips to the diner for coffee and pie! (That's a true story!). The area this truck is from is a very small, rural farming town, and the roads are literally two lane back country roads. Hence, the low mileage and use.
This truck runs like a Swiss watch, with documented 66k miles. Even have the original Chevrolet factory owners manual. When do you find them like this? The entire interior screams ORIGINAL and well-cared for and loved...the floor mats are like-new and the seats really defy description. Even sitting on them, one can tell the low use and miles as the cushions are soft and supple. All gauges work as they should and the truck tracks straight and true down the road.
I've used it sparingly in coastal San Diego as a truck to take surfing in Southern California and trips to Home Depot. Runs wonderful and peppy on the freeway, keeps up just great, very modern-feeling---yet old-school at the same time! It is presently stored at my friends ranch in nearby inland in Ramona, CA. He's a Chevy-nut like me, with lots of old Chev's and the "Green Giant" (as I call this C-10) is living a pampered life at "Pick Up Truck Ranch" which is what my friend calls his ranch.
There is no issue with shipping this truck, as there is a highway near "Pick Up Truck Ranch" where a large truck can be met with the truck for shipment anywhere. Here to help in any way with shipping coordination, etc.
The 3-on-the-tree transmission shifts quiet and smooth and the engine hums. The tires are brand-spanking new and the shocks are firm and supple. It's a "drive anywhere" truck that needs zero mechanical work. The 6-cylinder engine delivers a whopping 18-20 mpg on the highway---it's a gas-miser for a full size truck!
I am sorry to see it go, but am selling to fund purchase of a 55 Chevy truck. I have a decent-sized collection of old cars, but need the funds to secure my dream machine, so this C-10 needs a new loving home!
NADA classic car/truck guide Average value shows 11k and High value at 19k....but thisbarn find all original truck way better than average for sure!
Vintage Chevy trucks are experiencing a real boom these days, with prices climbing. How often do you see such well-preserved original examples on the market anymore? The good ones are simply being scooped-up and it's getting harder and harder to find a true survivor classic. This Chevy C10 with a little TLC can be a show-stopper that you can drive daily....how cool is that?
I've set a realistic reserve----so BID TO WIN!
Truck is in San Diego, but feel free to text/call with questions. Jon 808.557.0132
