Built at the St. Louis, Missouri plant. The trim tag shows the upper body as India Ivory and lower body Biscayne Blue along with Argent Silver wheel striping. Widow said her husband painted it years back and that is evident from overspray on glass and other areas. Odometer shows 89142, not sure if it's correct but as the car sits it appears to be. Car spent its entire life in TX. I purchased from Sealy, TX.
When pulled out of the barn it was on all 4 flat tires and the 2 front forward smaller frame supports along with the rear tire holder and rear small cross support suffered rust through. Surface rust as seen on other areas of the body but no other rust through I can find. The underside is untouched since removed from the barn and still has dirt, etc. and The car resided in Galveston, TX and was undercoated from the dealer when purchased. As seen in the pictures that appears true and has prevented other damage over the years. I purchased a 1954 2 door complete frame with a Camaro front sub frame grafted in place. My plan was to use the good parts from it to replace the rusted areas mentioned above. Included in purchase and will need to be trailered along with car. This is a frame with no wheels or suspension. I had the original wheels powder coated and installed new tires.
The top half of the engine was off and laying in the engine bay upon purchase and appears to be original to the car. Her husband had an issue, attempted to fix it, never finished and left it in the barn. I put all the pieces together in hopes I could get it running but could not get the motor to turn. Engine needs complete rebuild.
This car is as unmolested and rust free as I have ever seen. I purchased it for a father son project that never happened after the wife started asking about safety, airbags, etc. He now has a 2016 Subaru WRX and you all have the opportunity to buy a great car.
I purchased this car from the original owner's widow with her son present. They provided me with the original Texas title along with a completed document for title transfer. I have their complete contact info along with email addresses for ease of use during the post purchase title transfer process. I AM NOT a car dealer as you can see from my 100% feedback and transactions over the years. I just hate seeing it sit and want someone to bring it back to its glory or get it running and drive as is.
I own a business and am not always instant to reply but will get you an answer the same day you ask. If you need additional pictures I can take any of an area and send. I have a car lift in my shop and you can see it top to bottom in person.
