If you're in the market for a classic truck but want modern amenities to make it moredrive-able take a look at this show stopper. What you are seeing is a 1959 Apache with a 1978 Camaro subframe. This truck was stripped down to bare metal and painted with DuPont brand Sinful Cinnamon by Cool Cat Customs. The entire underneath was also painted with POR 15 and there are less than 600 miles on an extensive restoration (new dash bezel with odometer installed for confirmation). Due to the high cost of the paint materials the new owner will be happy to know that the truck comes with extra paint for any dings/scratches in the future.
During the restoration process tens ofthousands of dollars were spent to make this classic Apache run and look like new. The motor is a 327 rebuilt back tofactory specifications and not only does it start and run like a quality rebuilt engine should it has a reasonable amount of performance for simply stock. It will light up the rear as well as take you down the highway at 70 with no problem. One can easily see the low run time on the engine by the condition of the GM exhaust manifolds which show zero rust or other forms ofdeterioration. Also, the exhaust is new from front to rear. It is mated to the rebuilt turbo 350 transmission w/transmission cooler (still shines like new from being dipped when it was rebuilt), and rear end salvaged from the Camaro. All of the front end came from the same vehicle and it was completely rebuilt and aligned after completion. It goes straight down the road without any slop in the steering or any pulling to either side. It has new power disc brakes on the front and new drums and shoes on the rear.
Regarding a few of the upgrades to make this vehicle more driver friendly are a rebuilt and locking, tilt steering column with power steering. Once again, power disc brakes, electric wipers, an after market AC and heat unit that will literally freeze you in the worst heat and bake you in the cold, cruise control for long distance touring, and everything was installed with a new wiring harness from front to rear with a new fuse box. Even the hazard lights were wired into the new harness and all interior and exterior lights work as designed. If you look under the dash you see nothing but new components and everything was painted prior to installation.
Cosmetically and functionally a lot of money was spent. This would begin with the DuPont Hot Hues Sinful Cinnamon paint. After paint ALL of the glass was replaced along with the rubber seals, weather stripping and window felt. Nothing was left undone. The tail gate is new. The doors have been completely rebuilt with all new window regulators, lock mechanisms, strikers, arm rests, handles, etc. All of the interior components, door handles, speedometer bezel, ash tray, knobs, switches, rear view mirror, sun visors, etc., are new. The front seat wasre-foamed and reupholstered. New steering wheel and horn kit. New high CFM electric fan. The chrome bumpers, grill, headlight bezels, side view mirrors, tail lights, bumper mounts, bolts, etc., are all new. Just last week the custom built (local cabinet shop) wood bed was made from solid red oak, planed, sanded and stained. NOT a cheap kit.
There are numerous other new items on this truck but I won't bore you with the list but if you care to come see it I will make it available for any interested party. I value my feedback and I have tried to honestly represent this vehicle but no warranty is expressed or implied. The truck is located in Denton, Texas but has a Colorado title. If you are the buyer I will do everything I can to work with your shipper or fly in and drive it home! I am so confident in the mechanical reliability of this truck that I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country. This truck was entirely professionally built by men with reputations to uphold. It comes with a three ring notebook which includes the manuals and installation instructions for all of the systems. No mysteries. If you care to make a reasonable offer give me a call at the above listed number.
