Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1954
1954 Chevy 3600 long bedBody: The truck has a cool history as a Kansas tobacco farm truck that had spent most of its time on the farm and in a barn.
The truck had 56k when I purchased it from the original owner who purchased it in 1954. The body has all of the original sheet metal, floors, cab corners, rockers are completely solid, The patina is 100% real down to the dents and welded fenders, and the 63 year old wood stake bed sides. The original lacquer finish was hand buffed to bring out more of the patina. windshield and all rubber was replaced.
Chassis: Late model s-10 chassis was used for the build, which was cleaned and painted, Custom CNC body mounts were made with new polyurethane bushings, New front upper control arms were replaced along with ball joints and inner tie rod ends, McGaughy 2" dropped spindles were installed, out back is a 8.5 gm rear end with 3.42 gears and drum brakes, new shocks, and 3" lowering blocks Code 504 LS engine mounts were used to place the engine in the proper place with CCP transmission crossmember and a custom one piece driveshaft.
Powertrain: The 5.3 liter ls and 4l60e transmission were removed from a 2005 GMC Sierra with 124k, both engine and trans had service done before install, runs very strong and sounds great thru the custom 2.5" exhaust, with stainless steel shorty headers. The fuel system uses the stock s-10 fuel tank, a new walbro 255 fuel pump was added with a new sender.
Interior: Clean stock look, interior was first cleaned and painted, New carpet, seat cover, kick panels, headliner, weather seals, along with new custom gauges and steering column. Complete 21 circuit wiring harness was used in conjunction with the standalone ls pcm.
Truck has been driven 190 miles since build to work out the bugs.
Very reliable truck, cruises nicely down the hwy.
