1971 Corvette Information:The 1971 Corvette
The 1971 Chevrolet Corvette is one of the least changed from the previous year. This was the aftermath of the labor problems during '69 and '70. The biggest changes are in the motor to reduce the octane requirements from previous years as mandated by GM. This took higher priority than any cosmetic changes. One thing that was changed was the parking light lenses, most 71's have amber lenses although some early production models have clear. The resin process used to form body parts was also updated to increase quality. This was the last year for the M22 "Rock Crusher" heavy duty transmission. It was named the "Rock Crusher" because of the sounds it made when shifting. Still no black Vettes' this year on the standard order sheet.

BODY / PAINT:
The Body and paint is very solid and straight with very few blemishes. There are no visual Stress Cracks in the fiberglass. This car has T-tops that are Painted to match. I also have a set of Glass tops that can be included for an addition $200. It is very obvious this car has been pampered it's entire life. You Must see this car to appreciate. I have lots of cars and this is one of the nicest of the bunch.

The interior of this 1971 Corvette LS5/454 is very nice. The Dash, Door panels, Carpet, and Seats are in great shape. The Windshield Wipers, Headlights work as they should. All the Gauges work as they should except the Clock and Odometer. Currently the Heat/Air controls are not functioning properly. We were told that it may just need a new heater control. This is one of the nicer C3 Corvette Interiors that I have seen. We looked at lots of Corvettes and this one is the best we found.

This car has the famous LS5 454 Big Block Motor. It starts and runs great! The automatic transmission operates smoothly. This Big Block Corvette has been fitted with headers and Side Exit Exhaust System. This gives the LS5/454 a great sound and additional HP. We were told this is an original side exhaust car. It does not have the rear cut outs that a normal rear exhaust car would have.
