Description for Chevrolet C-10 1967

Titled as actual original miles, this C-10 pickup shows 23,239 miles on the odometer and retains its original 327 engine, listed as an L-30 on the glovebox option plate, with casting codes matching the time period and the correct "Dixie Cup" breather. Originally a Three-Speed-On-The-Tree transmission, this truck now has a GM Post-86 700R automatic transmission (professionally rebuilt in 2014). The column shift is a period-correct tilt column from another GM product. Power steering and power brakes too. Limited paperwork came with the truck, but it appears the first owner bought the truck in March of 1967 and didn't sell it until 2012. The next owner bought and partially restored the truck (including a front disc brake conversion, axle conversion to the very common 5x5 GM axle pattern and new paint), while the third owner owned the truck for just one year (and had the transmission rebuilt). I bought the truck in November 2014. The glovebox retains the 1967 Owner's Manual and Protect-O-Plate with pamphlet. It appears that when the truck was partially restored that it was repainted to Chevy Blue. The interior color appears original. There is no rust on this truck, and the cab corners are solid. The bed is fully painted to outside panel standard, with just a few scratches from loading/unloading on the lower inner tail gate and a few small scratches in the bed itself. There is one very small chip near the rear taillight that didn't show up in the photos. In addition to an Edlebrock Performer Carburetor, the truck also has a modern electronic distributor and the exhaust runs through headers and 2.5" tailpipes with Magnaflow mufflers, all stainless steel. I drove a lot of 1967-72 Chevy V-8 trucks before buying this one, and this one feels quite strong. This truck is wonderful on the road. It starts, drives, stops and idles very well, and runs down the road without issues even on 90 degree summer days. I bought the spare tire and attachment in 2015, but don't have the original jack. In my ownership, it has hauled the occasional hay bale for the chicken coop (hence a little straw in the photos) or supplies from Home Depot. No towing or heavy loads. Early on, I bought the bed and tailgate rubber mats to protect truck bed paint when I did haul something in the bed (they are not attached to the truck itself, so no marks). The bed cover is a padded clamp-on system, so is easily removed without a trace that it was installed. The 700R transmission has an overdrive lock up system. This truck has a switch on the lower dash to switch the lock up on/off if you do highway driving. In my ownership, I rebuilt the rear brakes (new wheel cylinders and shoes) and flushed the brake lines, as well as completed 2 oil/filter changes, new spark plugs, new hoses, new belt and new coolant. I also replaced a leaky mechanical oil gauge pipe and replaced the rear axle cover and changed the rear axle gear oil to cure a leak. All the fluids are fresh and all maintenance is up-to-date. A compression test showed all cylinders within 5 PSI of 155. Truck has been stored in a heated garage, and not driven in the rain. Everything works on the truck, including the original AM radio, but the fuel gauge does not return to E when the truck is turned off. The fuel gauge is accurate however. The steering wheel itself is not straight (but the wheels are aligned) and it does have a slight oil drip on the passenger side header. The age-appropriate OE tilt column shifter rattles slightly at idle in park, but not when in gear (just the shifter itself, you can put your hand on it and the noise stops). If wanted, I have the original 6 bolt rear axles and front drums, as well as the original HD rear springs and the original but cracked steering wheel. I've driven the truck about 400 miles this summer with no issues. I wanted to try an old American truck, and I've enjoyed this one, but it is time for me to move back to old sports cars and I only have space for one classic. $2,000 deposit within 24 hours after auction end. Full payment in 10 days and pick up the truck in 3 weeks. Payment via wire transfer or bank check or cash. Please feel free to ask any questions.
