Description for Chevrolet G20 Van 1965
1965 CHEVY VANlovingly restored hot rodNO RESERVE AUCTION!please scroll down to see all the photos!"classic muscle van"
I've owned this 1965 Chevy Van since 2006, and over the past 13 years I have painstakingly restored it in the original exterior/interior colors, rebuilt and upgraded literally every system. I am an expert on these '64-66 Chevy/GMC vans, but I'm a also hardcore chevy musclecar guy. My combined van and musclecar vision was to create a "classic musclevan." Basically this is a mid-60's classic Chevrolet bodystyle that is a refreshing alternative to the sea of Chevelles and Camaros you see at every car show. Instead of having just another classic 60's muscle car, why not be different and make the scene with a "muscle van" that nobody else has. This van has everything a badass classic musclecar should have, including a big and bold torque monster V8 engine, front disc brakes, posi rear, etc. but in a unique bodystyle that will be the center of attention at any show or cruise-in you take it to.It's also right at home cruising along any beach or out to your favorite surf spot. The ultimate surfer van! This van is a unique, one of a kind vehicle that literally grabs attention everywhere you go.
This van has been my baby for years, and now it is with a heavy heart that I finally list her for sale on ebay. I really don't want to sell, but its time to let her go. There is no reserve on this awesome van, so bid early and check back often and don't let it get away. I guarantee there is not another van out there like this one, anywhere. Bid to win, and bid to own.
Note: This van actually began its life as a GMC van, so GMC still appears on the title and the vehicle ID plate. The '65 Chevy Van and '65 GMC Van are essentially identical except for the emblems. "Chevy Van" is an American icon, so much so that it even had a classic song written for it, so when I restored this van, I swapped over to all Chevy emblems. It has all the 1965 year-correct 1st gen Chevy Van emblems, including the chrome bow-tie up front, Chevy Van emblems just aft of the driver's and passenger doors, and chevrolet script on the rear door, along with the correct Chevy horn button to finish it off.
My van features a Chevrolet 400 (6.6L) Small Block v8 engine with modern vortec heads. It runs great and makes a ton of torque and power while being very responsive. Idles strong and with a slight lope to the cam, it sounds seriously awesome through the big chrome sidepipes. I have not had it on the dyno, but I will say that when you hit the skinny pedal, this big 400 engine really gets down and boogies. Details on the engine build are:

Disclaimer:This is a one of a kind, 52 year-old vintage high performance hot rod vehicle. I've done my best to restore her and update her, and care for her in every way I could. I have described this van to the best of my ability. However, there are minor imperfections/flaws here and there, like any old hot rod that gets driven regularly. (And yes, I do drive this van quite often!) This van is really nice, but please be realistic. If you are wanting a 100% perfect vehicle, then you should buy a new car with a warranty. If you want a badass vintage classic that is truly one of a kind, read on and bid on this baby. NO RESERVE AUCTION! ASK ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING! WHEN THE AUCTION IS OVER THE SALE IS FINAL!!!
A few things to point out:Fuel gauge reads low, i.e. 2/3 tank on the gauge when full. When the gauge reads empty, there is still about 1/4 tank left. I think it is from the van's radical forward rake putting the gas at an angle while sitting in the tank, so it reads low. However, I will include a brand new fuel sending unit with the sale of the van. I bought a new one thinking that might be the issue, but have not gotten around to installing it yet.The roof is not perfect, its hard to see but it does have some waves in it near the back. Please scroll to the end of the photos for a detail pic of the roof so you can see what I'm talking about.CB and stereo antenna is on a big magnet that you attach to the roof when needed. When you don't need it, you can pull it off, unscrew the antenna mast and stash it inside the van.Horn is non-op at the moment. I'll try to troubleshoot it if I can get a moment.
All in all, this is a sweet old driver! And its so fun to drive.
