Description for Chevrolet Other 1973
Today I am offering buyers a rare opportunity to purchase a like new all stock 73 Vega hatchback with only 16. 60 miles. Most of the Vegas still around have been converted with V 8 engines or they are rusted out and need restored but this car still retains its original 4 cylinder engine and still looks like a new car. I purchased this car 19 years ago because it was so perfect and looked like a new car. This Vega was 23 years old at the time and had only 15. 00 miles on it. I wasn’t really looking to buy a Vega but how often does anyone have an opportunity to purchase a like new 23 year old car with only 15. 00 miles? For the past 19 years I have trailered my Vega to car shows and kept it in a heated garage. I also drove my Vega on occasion to special local events. Those short drives have added only another 1. 00 miles on this car. This car draws a lot of attention because it’s always the nicest looking 40 year old car in attendance at the car shows. In the sea of Camaros. Mustangs. and Mopars you seldom see another Vega so this car stands out and always gets a second look. So today I ask how often does anyone have an opportunity to purchase a like new 42 year old car with only 16. 60 miles? I’m sure there are a few Cosworth Vegas out there in the hands of collectors that have fewer miles than my Vega but are any of them for sale and if so for how much? This Vega is well equipped with a number of options including air conditioning. a 3 speed auto transmission (powerglides are more common). and the more powerful 2 barrel engine. This Vega retains its original radio and was undercoated when new to keep it from rusting. The owner said she was retired when she bought this Vega and only drove to the store and church. She kept it garaged and I was amazed how nice it was for it's age so I bought it. This is not a GT but if you absolutely must have a GT I have everything needed to convert this car to a GT. The jet black paint and body are perfect. The interior is dark green and also looks perfect. The engine bay has never been detailed so you may wish to spruce it up or you may decide to leave it as a survivor. It's not really that bad but it has never been washed and polished to keep it new looking like the body has been washed and polished on a regular basis. I kept the hood closed when I showed it and never washed the engine bay. The tires are original and look like new. This car runs great and I can’t think of anything it needs. I purchased a number of accessories to be used as props for car shows and to make my Vega really stand out. One accessory I purchased is a very rare hatchback tent. Let me know if you would like to purchase this tent with the car. All of my other accessories and memorabilia items have been packed away for a few years so I will have to dig out those boxes to see what else I am willing to part with at this time. I own a dozen cars and have now retired. It’s finally time for me to start selling off all of the stuff I have accumulated over the past 50 years. I have a 17. 00 square foot garage so it will probably take me a few years to inventory and get rid of everything. This is the third of my low mile cars I have put up for sale since my retirement. I will be selling a few more next year including a 67 GTO and a 67 Camaro. both rust free with about 60K miles. My wife and I have decided to move to a warmer climate when she retires in a few years so everything must eventually go. A museum plans to display 3 of my cars and quite a bit of the memorabilia in my collection when I'm ready. Everything else will be for sale. Please email me with any questions. I have this car for sale on another site for $8000. If this car does not sell you can make me an offer. I AM HAVING TROUBLE LOADING PICTURES. I WILL TRY TO ADD MORE PICTURES FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER. IF THAT FAILS YOU CAN MESSAGE ME THROUGH EBAY.
