1979 Chevrolet C10 Short Bed. Very original truck, unmolested and very solid.
93k original miles, RWD
Straight 6 with 3 on the tree (Column Shift Manual Transmission).
I daily drove this truck all last year with the exception of winter. I found this truck behind a shop were it sat for probably 3 years with the owner of the shop had plans for the truck. The truck came home with me and went straight into getting it ironed out to drive daily. I was able to get in contact with the family who owned the truck before the shop owner and they told me mileage is correct. The previous owner had lived on a cul de sac so he never went far, and the family got rid of the truck just before he passed.
Since I've had it, I put in all new front brakes, new master cylinder, battery, a decent set of used tires, cap, rotor, wires and plugs. I also did the hoses, thermostat (just to be safe) and of course it got all new brake fluid, oil, and coolant. The truck is NOT equip with power brakes but does have power steering. This truck is a true surviver and you won't find another one like this! ( I did hold on to all the original parts for the truck, its not to often you see original GM hoses and factory hose clamps on these trucks!!)
The Leer cap did not come with the truck, but fits the truck almost perfect. Truck does have its imperfections but it is almost 50 years old!! The drivers floor could be replaced, the fenders have some spots getting worse with age. Bed is very nice other than a couple of little spots. Frame is nearly SPOTLESS, the truck frame still has a wax type coating on it. I can only assume from the Rusty Jones sticker in the back window that this truck was coated with something! I also have the build sheet that was under the bench seat! Also has Hurst shift knob.
Truck drives as it should, needs exhaust work but it never bugged me(it's not silly loud). Shifts fine, clutch doesn't slip. Bench seat could use a new bottom pad, I have another set of fabric for it in a red(instead of tan, but same design and needs a good cleaning). Gas gauge is kinda funny, it goes past full when its filled up and when its on the full line I know it's time to fill it. Truck is probably the most reliable in my fleet. Always starts for me!
True buyers, come see this truck! If your thinking of picking up a father/ son project or just want something for yourself. I searched high and low for a truck like this and I can't let it just sit around anymore. Id like to see it go to a home where it'll be appreciated.
Truck is still registered and insured. Mileage may go up a bit since auction start, I do have the truck for sale locally and have the right to end auction at anytime I see fit.
