You are viewing a very good looking 1954 Bel Air that I purchased a couple of years ago from a Widow and her two sons. Her husband purchased the car in 2012, and in 2014 he lost his life on his farm when his tractor rolled on top of him. The wife and sons can not find any documentation on the car. Her two sons provided me with all the information they could remember from their Dad. He had said that he was going to look at a 54 chev that was restored in the late 1990's with around 60,000 miles and had a recent valve job done. This is what I was told and could only take their word on it, which I myself believe to be true. Vehicle was painted Horizon Blue and Indian Ivory when restored. Partial front floor pans and rocker panels replaced, but look great.For being an older restoration this 54 still shows its beauty. Paint still shines nicely, grill appears to be original and the brilliant bumpers appear to have been re chromed. There were a few real tiny spots I touched up on paint, but are not noticeable. I do not know how long the car sat, so I decided to have it looked over.Items repaired or replaced: New brake shoes, all new wheel cylinders, new brake hoses front and rear, new fuel tank, repaired heater core, new heater control valve, new heater and radiator hoses, generator cleaned and tested, new delco voltage regulator, rebuilt AM radio with new speaker, new fuel pump, new battery (2016 )When vehicle is parked or stored, the transmission will occasionally drip fluid from tail shaft. I have spoken to many people, and found that all cast iron power glides do this. After being stored for 6 months, I added about 4 oz. of fluid after car was completely warmed up. They DO NOT drip when running. Some Oldsmobile's and Chevrolet's were equipped with a Harrison transmission cooler thats mounted on the front right side of the engine. This was not an add on, and though rare, was installed by GM.This is a fine looking automobile that turns heads and gets a thumbs up. The engine runs smoothly with out any smoke or oil burning. The transmission shifts well as it should. The car drives straight and smooth. Everything works on this car as it should. If you would like a nice driver and not worry about getting a nick on a $20,000 paint job and still take to car shows, maybe this is it. Belairs that were built in 1954 were 143,573 2dr sedans, 248,750 4dr sedans, and only 66,378 2 dr. htps.I will not be responsible for my description of this vehicle.
