Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1966
This 1966 Corvette 427/425hp L72 Roadster has just received a no expense spared, 2+ year, nut & bolt frame off restoration. It currently has 515 miles during which time it has been completely sorted out. The car spent most all of its life inland in Northern California and had zero rust when the restoration began.
It has a date code correct 1966 "942" block & "858" heads, 444 bellhousing, M21 Muncie 4 speed and original HD Posi rear end. It is repainted the original Milano Maroon and has black vinyl interior per the Trim tag. All exterior trim has been professionally polished or plated and is perfect. The engine was built to 1966 L72 specs with all of the best parts available. A regrind of the original camshaft was used, along with forged pistons.
The chassis was done to NCRS specifications. The frame and related painted parts are the correct sheen, fuel and brake line are carbon steel, not stainless, all of the "natural" parts have been restored and it has all of the correct markings and stencil.
We do both NCRS and Concours restoration in our shop. While this car is very correct, it was built to a Concours level. It has flawless show quality paint and it lacks all of the "Factory" overspray and imperfections.
This is an opportunity to buy a "Done" car without the 2 year wait !! Well over $150k has been spent on this car. Very few early Corvettes run better than a good running '66 425hp and this is no exception. This car is fast, tight and solid..... NO excuses !!
While restoring this car, we found a "Note" that was written on the back of the glove box liner by the owner that purchased the car in 1967, I have included a picture and the liner goes with the car.
Please look at the pictures, I have a lot more if you would like to see them. There are so many more details this car, I am happy to discuss all of it by phone. Feel free to call me, 503-799-0099 Dean, Corvette Specialties of Oregon.
