Description for Chevrolet C-10 1966
With its great looks, strong drivetrain and a number of well-chosen convenience features added, this 1966 Chevrolet C10 will not only turn heads on the street or at local car shows, but would also make a fine daily driver for those who really like the idea of being behind the wheel of a vintage truck as often as possible, but enjoy driving in comfort as well.
Representing the very last year of Chevy's first generation of the line, this C10 remains in stock configuration, save for its custom wheels, and is one vital and sturdy-looking pickup. You might notice that its red paint is just a tad deeper than what you're accustomed to seeing and we think it's a great choice for this classic - with its wet, glossy look, it highlights all that curvature on display with the C10. Step closer and take a look from the front and you can see right off just how clean and smooth the front bumper and chrome grille are, and you'll notice that some of the details often glossed over - headlight and marker lenses, rubber seals and housings being among them - have been taken care of, as well. From the way that stout hood sits above the fenders, and how those fenders meet up with the doors before transitioning into the bed in back, you can also clearly see that everything is well-aligned, an observation reinforced by the reassuring "thud" the doors make when they're closed.
The interior is really nicely done - definitely an environment you could see yourself spending some time in. The bench seat features a tuck and roll pattern and it, like the matching door panels on its sides, has a great, slightly distressed look. A contrasting console with a pair of cupholders sits at its center for added storage space and to provide a convenient place to rest your elbow. When you slide into the driver's seat and cast your gaze forward, it's easy to appreciate the way some modern features have been added that blend in so well with their surroundings. The custom, billet steering wheel sits on a tilt column that matches the tan of the seating, and just beyond, a fresh set of gauges looks completely at home in the instrument cluster behind the crystal clear lens. An aftermarket A/C system has been added to keep you and your occupants comfortable - its installation another example of great work, as it's controlled by the stock switches on the dash and exhales through a set of seamlessly installed chrome registers. The bed area in back features a matching red liner that's obviously performed its protective duties well, as there are no noticeable scuffs, even on the wheelhouses.
Underneath that stout hood sits a 350-cubic inch V8 that's in good form - equipped with an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carb, it starts up promptly, idles smoothly and runs with plenty of power. It's paired with a 4-speed 700r4 transmission that provides a lot more functionality than its original counterpart, as it's armed with a nice low gear for good acceleration and overdrive to keep RPMs down on the highway. With power disc brakes up front and smooth power steering, this is an easy driver - more than up to the task of taking on everyday driving conditions with aplomb. This classic pickup sits with a slightly lowered and level stance on a set of 18" Coy wheels, wrapped with Kumho radials.
