Description for Chevrolet Other 1952
Here we go, 1952 Chevy 4 door. This car is a project, but it is not a total basket case, it is a running driving car that can be fixed up as driven, and is mechanically sound. I honestly don't have much backstory on it, the car owned by a close friend that owned an automotive shop and ended up getting stuck with the car. The previous owner had his other car extensively repaired and when he couldn't float the bill this what he ended up with for payment. Car appears to be what I would call a 70's build'. Most of the chrome was removed and filled, the back door handles shaved, the trunk smoothed and Cadillac taillights added. Without a doubt, there was Bondo/fiberglass used. The rocker panels show the worst of it, in front of the rear fenders they used tiger hair/fiberglass. The car has some small bubbling here and there, the worst being on the drivers side door. The rear doors must be opened from the inside. The trunk is wired to toggle switch and electronically pops. The trunk is solid with the exception of an access panel someone installed. There is a hole punched on each side of the back filler panel for licenseplate lights, both of which are included. Frame appears solid and straight, and the only real rot I could see is a small amount on a body mount, easily fixed without removing it. The floors have some deep pitting, but no holes that I can see. I would personally wire wheel the undercarriage and Por 15 it. Engine is a very healthy running 235, mated to a 2 speed power-glide. I was told the engine was rebuilt around 10,XXX ago, I have no proof of this other then what I can see, its definitely been out of the car before, and under the valve cover (Rocker Shafts) appears very clean. Car has been converted to 12V and uses a 1 wire GM alternator. It has Lincoln town car seats in it, the front fit very well and are extremely comfy. The rear fit well but need to be attached better. The passenger side wing glass has a crack in each piece, I have found replacements cheap online or any glass shop could easily make you them. All the exterior lights work, Hi beams/Low Beams, brake lights, turn signals. The spotlight is currently not hooked up, as it is still 6V. The gauge cluster lights up and is in working order. Heat works like a champ! The only thing I can see that doesn't work is the factory radio, the clock, and overhead light. Last year the car received a complete front brake disc conversion, brand new Rotors, pads, calipers, bearings, wheel seals installed. It also had some front end work done, new sway bar end links, new coil springs, and new shocks. It also had a new starter installed. The car cruises 60 mph very well! On Monday I installed 4 Brand New Starfire 215/65/R15 tires on a matching set of 15X7 Corvette Rally wheels. I added new 3" spiked lug nuts, and personally think the car looks awesome. It previously had Outlaw 2's on it and looked....terrible. The car will need an exhaust, and I am including a brand new pair of Speedway 60" functioning lake pipes with mounts, they will fit the cars character perfect. A new pair of rear shocks is also included, as the ones on the car are pretty rustic lookin' The only thing I would do before daily driving the car is have the master cylinder rebuilt, several times I have had the pedal go soft on me, I could not find any blown lines so I'm assuming that would be the issue. The car has a clear Reconstructed Deleware title with reconstructed plate on the A pillar. From what I'm told, this is how Delaware titles "Hot Rods" and "Custom Builds", here in PA the car may require an enhanced inspection to be registered, please check with your local laws and regulations before bidding!! I do not want a upset buyer over this! Sold as-is, where-is. I have done my best to describe this car as best as I possibly can. Questions? Fireaway! I will answer them in a timely manner as fast as I can. Car can be stored for $100 a month if needed until picked up for however long is needed.
