Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1957
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2dr Coupe 4500 Miles Since Full Restoration Harbor Blue / Black & Blue Super Turbo Fire Power Pack V8 Style: Bel Air Sport Coupe (57-1037D) Trim: Black and Blue (672) Paint: Harbor Blue (796A) Engine: 283ci V8 from 1957 (3731548, likely original) Head: Power Pack (3884520) Trans: 700R4 (8642547-1 cast on top/side) VIN: VC570171257 Oakland, CA Assembly Plant Chicago Car Club is pleased to present this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air! We purchased this ‘57 Bel Air Coupe from a local gentleman, the car having been restored ten years... and 4500 miles ago. The car was restored with originality in mind, sticking with both the original Harbor Blue exterior color and the Black & Blue interior. The car was finished to a high standard; as it sits, this is a clean, well-sorted ‘57 with a few fantastic “restomod” elements to it, including Rostra cruise control, vintage air (r134a), and a retro-style Ken Harrison radio with aux hookup. This car is in need of nothing; it is ready to be driven and enjoyed by its next owner. Exterior: - Please see the video accompanying the listing, as it provides a thorough look at the car in direct sunlight. - We put an elcometer (paint gauge) all over the car and were very pleased with the findings. There is barely any filler (rust repair) on this car. The elcometer reads between 8.0-14.0 along the bottom of the quarters, a very rust-prone area. Elcometer readings indicate a respray but not filler, impressive for a restored car of this vintage. - There are very few blemishes on the car. The most significant is a small concentration of chips at the middle bottom of the driver door. Even the forward corners of the rear skirts are free of any significant chipping or wear, a spot that we commonly see blemishes on these cars. The body is truly excellent, with no dents, dings, or scuffs whatsoever. - Polished pieces (bumpers, handles, trim pieces) are all in great shape. Chrome shines bright and shows no damage and next-to-no oxidation. - Body-colored wheels and chrome hubcaps are in excellent condition, as are the Coker Classic Whitewall tires. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. Interior: - The interior is very clean throughout. Seats are in great shape both front and rear, with little-to-no signs of age. There is one tiny, barely-noticeable spot on the driver’s seat bottom where it looks like a 1cm puncture may have been repaired, but other than that the seats are mint. - Headliner is nice and tight - Gauges are all functional, and the odometer was reset when the car was restored. It now reads 4,565 miles. Cruise control has been fitted to the column and is functional. Vintage Air (r134a) has been added and is functional. Retro-style Ken Harrison radio with aux input is functional. Analog clock on the dash is functional. Lights and signals are all functional. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. The underbody is in outstanding condition. Casting numbers are still clearly legible, little dabs of yellow paint on many of the components are still visible. Underbody is super clean, with no evidence of any leaks. Absolutely no rust, not even surface. This car is bone dry. - The decked block shows an engine number of 3731548, denoting a 283ci V8 from 1957, so it is very likely that this is the original engine. The head number is 3884520, denoting the Power Pack. This car has a new dual exhaust, Edelbrock intake and 4BBL carb, Griffin aluminum radiator with electric fan, new fuel tank, and updated ignition and distributor. Also vented front disc brakes and Monroe Sensatrac Shocks. - The car runs and drives very, very well. The car starts up without fault, idles cool and steady, accelerates smoothly without any stuttering or hesitation, and brakes very well. Wouldn’t hesitate to fly in and drive home. Truly an excellent example of an American icon. With any questions, requests, or to discuss purchasing, please reach out to Jake at Chicago Car Club at 773-273-8257 or .
