This is a 1971 Corvette convertible. mileage on the odometer was 87k when I purchased it in 2007. but was not functioning. Both the speedo and tach have since been restored and calibrated. It has had complete suspension rebuild. including hd springs. sway-bars and Bilstein shocks. All brake calibers. ads and lines have been replaced. The vacuum brake booster was replaced with a Hydratech Hydraulic break assist unit. The transmission is a custom built TH200R4 (overdrive automatic) with a 3. 36 rear end. Engine is a service replacement 454 4bolt main. which was rebuilt as a 427. and has hydraulic roller cam. edelbrock aluminum heads w/roller rockers and a custom holley performance carburetor. This engine dyno'd at 500hp/500ft/lbs. The car has Hooker sidepipes with low-restriction mufflers. It has a functional l88 induction hood. MSD electronic ignition and tach drive/distributor as well as reconditioned original radiator and r134 air conditioning. The evaporator and heating core have been replaced. The air-mixing box has been rebuilt and resealed. The interior has been redone. with new door panels. new carpets. dash pads. console and windshield trim. The radio is original but has been upgraded with modern internals which gives you a jack for an ipod. All vacuum operated equipment (actuators for lights. wipers and ac. hoses. vaccum switches etc) has been replaced and is fully functional. Fiber-optics have been replaced. The seatbelts were refurbished. The seats that are in the car are from a 2007 and have power lumbar. however I have the original seats. which have new skins and have the shoulder harness option as well. and will go with the car. The convertible top is new and the frame and weatherstripping has been restored/replaced. This car has a tilt/tele steering column. with aftermarket small diameter padded wheel. but the original wheel and many other original parts go with the car. Chrome parts are in decent shape. ie. . no rust or pitting but not show quality. Has original rallye wheels and new Firestone tires. The mirrors are from a newer vette and the driver side has inside controls. Paint is good overall and cleans up nicely. but has some chips. cratches etc. The paint color is actually Dodge peacock red. and looks really sharp (same color used on Vipers). Although the car has been somewhat altered from original. I have most of the parts that came with the car in storage. and will supply them to the new owner so that they may restore the car to original. (seats. rebuilt TH400 transmission. etc. ) if they desire. I have a 2" thick pile of receipts for parts and service. as well as the owners. shop and assembly manuals. I built this car to drive and have fun!!! This car gets lots of compliments at shows. I also have a document showing that the original selling dealer was Bay Chevrolet of Long Island. New York.
