Description for Chevrolet C-10 1968
After repeated attempts with no success to reach out to Rick-4689 the previous winner of this truck we are now relisting due to non deposit payment within the 24 hour deadline per EBAY rules, As recommended by EBAY Rick-4689 has now been placed on our EBAY blocked buyer/bidders/non payer's list as this is our business and not a game, It's simple! Simply DO NOT bid if you cannot pay, Were not talking much money here or breaking the bank by any means, It takes zero effort to simply do the right thing and pick up the phone and make a phonecall after winning an auction, With that said this is a 1968 GMC Custom 20 3/4 ton lwb pickup truck, This is a factory "big block" truck still retaining it's original 396ci/310hp 4bbl engine, 3 speed manual transmission, powersteering, powerbrakes, Engine runs great however the gas tank needs to be replaced with a new one which I have and is included in this auction, Reason being every once in a while it will pick up some trash from the original tank causing it to shut off, Also the original waterpump is making noise and will need to be replaced, Other than those 2 things this workhorse truck can be used and driven, Needs some bodywork here and there but a very solid and dry truck underneath (see undercarriage pictures), Drivers side door handle button is broken, Tailgate needs bolted on properly, Simple fix, Body is very solid and the frame is very clean/solid, Elderly driven and never up and down salty roads or subjected to salty climates, Look closely at the pictures, The metal is very clean and dry on this truck, Also clean and all original inside/original seat and steering wheel, I have the other 2 aluminum wheels to match the rears which are included as well, Overall a neat father/son/daughter fixer-upper to tinker with and drive as is? Restore back as original? Shoptruck? FarmTruck? or simply pull the Bigblock engine and use it in a chevelle, camaro, nova, etc.. Many possibilities with this one, Very rare/hard to find truck and someone is going to get a neat toy to play with, Great investment without breaking the bank that will only increase in value, Serious inquiries only, I have a personal delivery driver for quick delivery @ $1.25 a loaded mile that can have the truck to you with the quickness if you choose to do it that way, Serious inquires only please, Feel free to contact Paul @ 901-219-9569 with any questions, If no answer please leave a detailed message and I will return your call as soon as possible, Bidders with zero/less than 10 positive feedback must contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid/bids, Bank wire transfer preferred for payment as it is the quickest and safest method of payment for both the buyer and the seller, If you cannot follow our payment instructions please look elsewhere, Sold in as-is condition with a clean clear title, Thanks again for looking and bidding. Below is a article I found and copied about another 1968 C10 factory big block truck.Woah baby is this thing awesome! Behold this 1968 C10 long bed truck (shush it short bed guys!) with its factory equipped Turbo 400 transmission and factory equipped 396ci big block engine as well. That's right, this is a "real" factory big block truck and outside of a respray of orange paint it is exactly as it left the production line in 1968. The interior is minto with its dual colored bench seat and factory red carpet as well. Why are we freaking out a little over this truck? Factory half ton big block trucks were not all that common and one has to think about the motivations regarding the person who bought this one new in '68.
This truck weighs about 3,500lbs and the biggest engine you could get in it back then was the "Hi-Torque" 396ci rat motor. We can see someone optioning a cab and chassis one ton with a big block for work purposes but the fact that this is a C10 with the biggest motor available leads us to believe that someone with a hot rod heart was clicking the option sheet when it was bought. It is important to note that the 396 in the 1968 trucks was rated at 310hp and 400 lb/ft of torque at 3,200 RPM. Why? These were cammed for low RPM usable horsepower and torque. Unlike their harder spinning car counterparts the 396 engines in trucks were intended to help haul...trailers, not ass. The seller here seems to indicate that the thing is box stock which is cool because you are only a camshaft away from Chevelle and Camaro horsepower. Unless you guys out there know something different!
We're in love with this thing because it has that factory engine and the factory transmission still in it. The guy selling it wants $13,500 and frankly we think that is on the money. Finding one of these trucks that has not been molested is rare indeed. Think the original owner screwed with small block muscle car guys in '68?
