Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1979

1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 History The second-generation Chevrolet Camaro was produced by Chevrolet from 1970 through the 1981 model years. It was introduced in the spring of 1970. Sales for 1979 were the highest ever for any generation Camaro before or since, numbering 282,571 units. Why Is This Car Special GM engineers have said the second generation is much more of "A Driver's Car" than its predecessor. The 1979 Cobalt Blue Chevrolet Camaro Z28 we have here at Skyway Classics is a great example of that. Mechanical Under the hood is the born with 350 cubic inch small block Chevrolet V8 engine rated at 255 horsepower as noted by the L code in the VIN#. This one runs and sounds great with the dual exhaust system running out the back. It is mated to the original 3-speed automatic transmission and rear end. The motor sits in a clean engine compartment and features a chrome air cleaner attached to a ram air hose and front facing scoop. It has power steering, air conditioning, power disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear with factory color-matched 5-spoke wheels and Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires. Interior An amazing thing about this car is that it still has the original grey vinyl bucket seat interior with console in great shape. It is also equipped with a stereo radio system, power windows, tilt wheel, factory gauges, floor mats, and more. Exterior The Z28s now came with a front spoiler and fender flares much like its Pontiac Trans Am twin had, and now came with "Z28" decals that ran from the beginning of the front flares to the bottoms of the doors. The cobalt blue paint job shows well and the decal kit is looks great. The rest of the fit and finish is great as well. All the body panels are straight and the trunk too. Conclusion This 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 we have at Skyway Classics is. A car that most of us wish we could have had back then. Well you can have it now! Come see it soon.
