Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1941
This truck is a sweet combination of a nice paint job on a full steel body pickup, with engine and chassis upgrade choices that make this a comfortable long-distance cruiser. It looks good, turning heads wherever it goes, and will go plenty of places because it rolls down the road easily at 70 or 75 and gets 18mpg while doing it. Check it out. The first thing you notice as you approach this truck are the beautiful... lines of this prewar pickup. From the front, a tall body colored grill starts under the hood with horizontal lines, then reaches for the ground with an array of vertical lines. Headlights perch proudly on the broad fenders with chrome eyebrows. The tall cab with its top mounted windshield wipers rises over the tapered hood offering a nice vintage look and great visibility while rolling down the road. From the side you notice the rake of the lowered chassis with staggered wheel sizes and the smooth curves of the fenders and cab. Get a little closer and you will see the outstanding paint work. It's called Prowler Flame Orange Pearl with ghost flames and flags done in Bronze. It definitely gets people admiring this truck up close. At the rear, a power operated toneau cover offers secure luggage space and more custom paintwork adorns the tailgate. A custom lower valence mounts the lights and has a couple chrome exhaust tips peeking out from underneath. Open the door and you will find a beautifully done Tan interior with all the modern comforts and conveniences you could ask for. The door panel is a custom molded to echo the flames on the outside with power windows and a long comfortable armrest for cruising. Settle into the comfortable Riviera buckets with a fold down center armrest and reach out for the Weld Racing, leather wrapped steering wheel which is mounted on a tilt column with the shifter for the 4-speed automatic trans. Behind it are white faced VDO gauges set in a gorgeous bronze instrument panel with a Bosch tach mounted on the top of the dash to keep your mind on the RPM limits when you decide to let the horses run. There is an overhead console with a JVC AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo for your listening pleasure and a Southern air conditioning system to keep you cool. A tan headliner and carpeting with Chevy bowtie floormats to protect it tie the look together nicely. Under that narrow piano hinged hood you will find a 350 cubic inch engine dressed in plenty of chrome nestled down inside a nicely detailed out engine bay. There is a chrome Edelbrock air topper capturing a Spectra air filter and housing. The fresh air flows in through an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake manifold and out through a dual Flowmaster exhaust system. Chrome valve covers with flames etched into them look sweet and things are kept running cool by an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. Power flows back through a 700R 4-speed overdrive transmission to a rear end out of a Camaro that all adds up to great highway cruising capabilities. A Monte Carlo front suspension set up has a beefy sway bar for good handling and power front disc brakes for plenty of stopping power. Boyd Coddington personally measured this truck and then cut his Spider design wheels to fit properly. And they look awesome! They measure 275/45R20 in the rear, and 225/55R17 in the front. This truck is a sweet combination of a comfortable cruiser with a show stopping paint job. Come on down and check it out. You may decide to cruise on home with it.
