Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1965
Does it get any better than a '65 Corvette convertible, in its original colors, with a matching numbers 327 under the hood? Well, maybe. If you like side pipes and center spin wheels. If so, then this car may be for you. It was delivered in Nassau Blue, and retained that color during it's freshening up. There have been no modifications to the body, and the repaint is a quality job with a really nice shine. You... can tell that the fiberglass is in great condition by the good gaps and nice body lines throughout. Brightwork around the windows and lights appear to be original and are in great condition. Bumpers front and rear shine brightly and also appear to be the original pieces. The badging is correct and looks great with a checkered flag leading the way on the nose of the car as well as on the front fenders and a Corvette Sting Ray badge graces the back of the car. While not technically a badge, the checkered flag gas cap in the middle of the rear deck is a race car inspired piece and looks awesome. The white convertible top is newer and clean with only slight fading. Side pipes are always a good look on these cars and the center spin wheels just adds icing to the cake. The code 450B white interior continues the originality theme and is in great condition. It also looks totally awesome with the Nassau Blue. A deep-dish wooden steering wheel with checkered flag horn button feels good in your hands while the shifter for the manual transmission is a quick flick of the wrist away. The classic double hump dashboard of this Corvette is all stock. Factory gauges are original and in good condition. The control knobs for the lights, wipers, and ventilation controls do have some minor wear, which, like a patina, or wisdom, comes with age. A stock center console has the factory Delco stereo with single speaker, and is charming sitting sideways with its separate control knobs just above it. The seats look like new with only slight wear from use and the white door panels are clean with delicate chrome piping dressing them out. While top down motoring is the usual visual for this car, rest assured that when the White top is pulled up, that you will still be the envy of everyone on the road. The numbers matching, 327 under the hood of this car, is of course, one of the things that makes it so desirable. It sits in a nicely detailed engine bay and has a polished air topper sitting on a dual snorkel filter housing that feeds a Carter AFB 4-barrel carburetor. The GM intake and heads along with the rest of the engine iron is painted Chevrolet Orange as are the valve covers with the 327 Turbo Fire decals on them. The belts and hoses are all fresh as is the battery. A Harrison aluminum radiator keeps everything running cool and the sound those side pipes makes is awesome. Power runs back through the 4-speed manual trans and gets to the ground through 205/75R15 tires all around mounted on those precious spinner style knock-off wheels. The rear suspension is of course a monoleaf spring type but with rear disc brakes providing improved stopping ability for the first time on the '65s. Front is a control arm setup with a beefy sway bar and rotors matched to the back that help this car haul back down from speed in a hurry. Want a sweet looking, numbers-matching 327 Corvette convertible with side pipes and spinner wheels? Then call quick. You're probably not alone.
