Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1969
1969 Camaro Rally Sport X11 coded car. This car cranks up. runs. and drives. Clear North Carolina title in my name. Please read full description and look at all pics closely. If you are local and would like to check out the car before bidding I am fine with that also. I will give my phone number to serious buyers only. Don't waste my time. I will also be posting a link to a huge amount of pictures of the car and a couple of videos of the car running and moving. Picture link Factory 69 Camaro Rally Sport. This car is a factory A/C car with power windows. The belt is off of the A/C compressor. but the compressor was working. It just no longer blew cold air so I removed the belt right after I bought the car 4 or 5 years ago. The front 2 power windows were great. the rear quarter windows are a little iffy at times but do work for the most part. The car was painted and fixed up sometime in the mid to late 90's for a teenage girl to drive to high school. She drove it through college and until her first child was born. They bought a new vehicle at that point and the car got parked with a car cover over it. It saw for a few years until I was able to get it about 4 or 5 years ago. Drivetrain: Remanufactured 350 crate engine from advance auto. It was installed at some point when she was driving it to college. Edelbrock RPM aluminum intake. Holley 600cfm carb with electric choke that I installed right after I bought the car. Everything else on the engine is stock. Transmission is a TH350 with what feels like a stock convertor. Rear end is a stock 10-bolt with multi leaf rear springs. Interior: Red deluxe A/C interior. Deluxe seats and door panels. Seat covers are really nice. drivers seat could use a little foam in the bottom. Carpet is faded and has some spots. Door panels are cracking from the sun abuse. Dash pad is really nice. Console is functional but could use a restoration on the paint. Has a 2 gauge panel installed behind the shifter with oil pressure and water temp gauges. Dash is pretty nice with wood grain panels. Ashtray does have a hole in it. Speedometer and gas gauge do work. Headliner is nice also. Body: THIS CAR HAS RUST! Unfortunately this car has the common vinyl top problems. The roof is bubbling under the vinyl. There is rust in the lower front fenders and just a little in the door corners. The quarters appear to have been replaced at some point. The sail panel section just above the quarters and going into the top panel is going to need repair. There are some rust holes showing along with evidence of previous repair attempts. All of this can be seen in the larger pics in the link. The front floor pans appear pretty solid. Rear 2 are getting weak and have some rust damage. Trunk pan is getting thin and weak. The hood is a factory GM cowl hood that I bought for the car after I got it. it had a fiberglass hood previously. I also had a new windshield installed not long after getting the car. I also got rid of the clutch fan and put on an aluminum flex fan. Car has power brakes with drums on all 4 corners. Tires are a matching set that hold air. but they are starting to show some dry rot. We haven't had license on the car since the summer of 2012. It just wasn't getting driven with life going on. Car has been kept either in the garage or carport since I got it in 2010 or so. Main reason for selling is I have 2 other projects going on and I just don't see getting to this anytime soon. and I hate seeing it sit. I have the clear NC title in hand and in my name. The battery has gotten weak. especially with the cold weather this winter. It will crank quickly with a jump start but will need a new battery. If I were putting the car back on the road I would buy new tires. some people would probably drive whats on it. The tread is great. just showing their age from sitting. Please read the description before asking questions. I try to be as detailed as possible. I also don't try to hide anything. I want you to know what you're bidding on. I didn't spend a ton of time cleaning the car up to try to make it look better than it is. I simply washed it and cleaned the windows. What you see is what you are getting. The hide-away headlight doors DO NOT work. the headlights themselves do. Pretty common on original RS cars. I've always just opened them by hand if I was driving the car at night. The electric kits that are available in the aftermarket are the way to go on these cars. On Feb-09-15 at 15:30:33 PST. seller added the following information: The engine is actually a crate 350 cubic inch 260HP ordered through a Chevrolet dealership. It was brand new. not remanufactured. I will try to get some numbers off of the engine tomorrow if I can get to them. The TH350 was also rebuilt at the same time by someone local to the previous owner that the person that installed the engine recommended. On Feb-11-15 at 06:34:34 PST. seller added the following information: Engine casting number is 10066036. This is the correct casting for the common 350 crate engines that are sometimes called "target". "mr. Goodwrench" etc. They are still GM's best selling crate engine today. 350 Cubic inches. 4 bolts mains and a 2 piece rear seal. A lot of magazines have done articles on these engines and are easily passing 300hp with them doing a simple cam swap using cams that cost less than $100. I had a different car a couple of years ago that had an Advance auto engine in it. I had a memory lapse when I listed this car. Sorry for the confusion.
