Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1963
Up for auction is a 1963 Corvette Convertible with all matching #'s original born with drive train. 327-300HP. Factory original white coded car with original black interior. 71k original miles. The body on this Corvette is original and untouched with ZERO body repairs. All bonding strips are unblemished and perfect. One single stage repaint with the hood & door jambs bearing it's original paint as the doors have never been off the car. ZERO stress cracks. Perfect headlight bucket gaps. It's a terrific Top Flight candidate with a few minor corrections to do. Paint has a nice deep shine that has been flat-buffed to give it an exquisite white roadster look. Behind each rear wheel are a few pebble nicks that have been touched up. Overall I would rate the paint as an 8. 3 out of 10. All of the chrome and stainless are excellent to near perfect. Convertible top is very nice with it bearing the correct off-white color. All of the glass is original and in excellent condition. The interior of the Corvette is completely original and in excellent condition with no tears. rips or cracks anywhere. All of the gauges work. are clear and in excellent condition. Both dash pads are super nice as are the door panels. Underside frame to the convertible top is in excellent condition. Not even any unusual wear in the carpets or seats. The engine compartment is really nicely detailed. Valve covers are for a 340HP car but most of the other components are original to the car. Underside of the Corvette is super solid and rust free. End caps are unblemished and nicely outlined. I had put a brand new correct spare tire carrier in last fall that looks terrific in between it's correct exhaust mufflers & tailpipes. Everything works on the Vette except the clock. Radio is not the original but plays. Headlight buckets go up & down evenly but slowly. Power steering. power brakes and powerglide automatic transmission. This car overall is in very nice condition and is evident that it's been babied all of it's life as a lot of white mid year Vettes tend to be. Really runs and drives terrific. The power steering makes for easy one finger steering. The power brakes stop quickly and do not pull at all in either direction. It sits on correct sized white walled radial tires that hug the road so much better than the bias ply tires of the day. ZERO play in the steering wheel as front end has been well maintained. Shifts exactly how it's supposed to from the factory. Cruises easily on the highway at 70 MPH without any vibrations. Overall it's a "super nice driver" better than average car. Makes for a wonderful husband/wife car as it was for 32 years previous to me purchasing it. I welcome anyone to inspect the Corvette before bidding and even test drive it (weather & road conditions permitting). Can help arrange for shipping. I prefer phone calls to e-mails as I will gladly do a walk around describing every inch of the car to anyone that is interested. Date codes. casting #'s and other info can be provided upon request. Reserve is very reasonable for the Vette but please don't ask as I prefer to be fair to everyone. Car is for sale locally therefore I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Any questions. call (914) 494-2143. Bruce. Good luck.
