Description for Chevrolet Other Pickups 1950
This is a cool old truck that I bought from a mechanic friend of mine. He had it for many years and took very good care of it. Just about everything works on it. Lights work great including the interior lights and the signals. All the gauges work too. Speedometer works but is not completely accurate. Wipers get vacuum but for some reason won't move? Brakes are good for being the original style. Front end seems tight. Everything seems to work good but you have to remember that it is 1950 technology. Body is above average solid. Cab corners have been repaired in the past and they have no bubbles in them. There is a little rust through on the insides of them. Truck was probably painted sometime in the 80's. Body is straight with the exception of the right front fender and the tailgate. Fender is repairable. Bed floor has had a piece of 1/8 plate installed over the original wood floor. Wood needs replacing. Rear window has a crack in it. Left door glass needs regulator replaced and I have a good used one that will go with truck. 16" wheels in back and 15"s in front. Decent tires. Not sure if motor is the original or not. Everything looks original under the hood. Seat, door panels. and carpet look like they were redone about the same time as the exterior paint job. No tears but they could use some freshening up. Headliner looks to be the original. Truck is still on 6 volt system. New battery. Still has pedal in floor for starter. Works excellent. The three speed shifter works excellent. I've never had it hang up on me yet. Very smooth.I did recently add the bed rails. They are made from rough cut cedar. Door lettering was recently added too. Overall this is a great truck to drive like it is or restore. I would drive this truck anywhere as long as your not in too much of a hurry. Leaks a little oil like most of these did. These old trucks are good for the soul. It makes you slow down and really live life. When I drive this truck I imagine what it would have been like in 1950. I'm sure the original family was as proud as they could be upon purchasing this truck. I hope that the new owner is as proud of it as I have been too. Truck is for sale locally. If you win the bid and feel like it is not as I represented you do not have to buy the truck. If you have any questions please call 903.701.5858. Thanks.
