Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1966
its sort of interesting when cars have some kind of a story behind them.if you read hemmings muscle machines or muscle car review, then youll know what im reffering too.as i was told.....this car since being purchased new,has stayed between 3 close friends....really just 2 long time real owners.owner #1 bought it new and kept till the mid 70's,then became too ill to keep it.he sold it to friend #2.owner 2 kept till about 3 years ago, then he also passed away.friend #3 being a mopar guy, sold it for the widow to move it on so she would have to look at it anymore.as i have it now to list it on here.sadly its cloudy other than that...as friend #3 is into his 70's now......the car was a 396-360 h.p.but between friend #1 and friend #2,the engine was either used up,or destroyed?during that time a 335 h.p. 427 was installed.it still has the right components and parts & the look of the 360 version down to the right date & # on the holley carb, muncie did not have a date on case?its the M20.and the 12-bolt is still positraction and 3:55.this 66 has one of the best bodies that youll ever probably come across.it is an authentic super sport with the 13817 body.i cant stress how extremely nice and sharp this car is.even the pictures,as good as they are, doesnt show how well it is.this car still retains all its born with body panels.including,rockers,quarters,trunk,floors,fenders,ect....even the gm prone to rust areas like the bottoms of the front fenders havent been patched or replaced.all body lines and body gaps are consistent.all glass is near perfect.all chrome or stainless if not new,its near flawless.body down the sides is straight.paint is a 9.no scratche, dents or bubbles.doors, trunk, hood all line up and close like they should.retains all 4, t-3 headlights.the one thing that doesnt work that i know of is the wipers?...i think its the switch itself, but is this car going to get taken out in the rain anyway?,i hope not,so thats no big deal.interior is all new.as good as it gets.nothing over looked.it is also a nicely and highly optioned,21 to be exact.they are as follows:
A02-all tinted glass J50-power brake PW8-red stripe tires
A39-deluxe seat belts L34-396-360 h.p. U14-gauge package
A49-seat belt retractors M20-wide ratio transmission U16-engine tachometer
A51-bucket seats N33-tilt steering U63-push button radio
D55-floor shift console N34-sport style wheel U73-rear mt antenna
G80-positraction N40-power steering V31-front bumper guard
G96-3:55 gear N96-mag style full wheel covers V32-rear bumper guard
this car runs and drives as good as any 66 chevelle out there.cars in this condition are getting harder and harder to find, because it seems people are keeping them longer.this car has been treated to a complete body off frame.there has been nothing left that has to be completed.it is like new from top to bottom, inside and out.the car underneath looks as nice as the interior and under the hood! its been highly detailed as seen in the pictures....they are several 66's listed on here at any given time.please look at the pictures of the bottom, suspension, and attention to detail of those extremely high priced ones and compare to this one?.....there are always people asking the reserve.i dont disclose that.
im a dealer doing business as hathcock auto sales & restoration.if you bid,you understand your buying it as-is,no warranty expressed or implied.there is also a non-refundable deposit required and it will be due at auctions end.also, within 3 days of auction ending, full payment will be required,or it will be offered to the next highest bidder.do your due-dilligence.im away alot on summer days attending auctions, swap meets,ect...thats why im firm on my terms.im not available several days at a time.all statements here are based on opinion, yours may differ.upon winning bid, your acknowledging you have read and understand the info listed here....i have a friend that is a dispatcher at a major transport co.sometimes for me,he can gets cars moved for around .040 to .060 cents a mile?...thats extremely reasonable...just thought i would let that be known...whoever ends up with this car should not be disapointed.
