Description for Chevrolet C-10 1979

1979 Chevrolet Scottsdales Shortbed Pickup. The truck has very little rust on the body along with the undercarriage due to originally being from North Carolina. The body of the truck has been buffed out showing a lot of the "patina" look. When the truck was purchased it had been sitting for 15+ years the previous owner's garage. Had a 350 small block which has recently been updated with a LS engine. This was not a cheap build, no short cuts were taken.

Body - Overall the sheet metal on the truck is rust free. On the driver's side rocker there is a small hole about the size of a package of cigarettes. On the passengers fender there is a golf ball size hole down low towards the door. Along the back left side of the floor of the box is another small holes. The bed has been covered with a rubber bed mat. Above the trim on the wheel wells, cab corners is all solid no rust or holes. Cab support - passenger side is the only one showing any age. This one could be replaced but is not needed. The bushings have all been replaced where the cab mounts to the frame. Front bumper, headlight bezels, grille and all lights have been replaced with new parts. LED bulbs installed in taillights and blinker/side markers. The headlights have also been replaced. Windshield has a small crack on the driver's side. The front clip has been removed and painted. The inside of the fenders along with the firewall now match the body color of the truck. Radiator support and brackets were blasted and painted as well.

Suspension - Truck has been lowered with front coil springs and rear flip kit. I have a seat of spindles and hangers to lower the truck even further. C-notch kit is not installed; I have never had any issues with the axle hitting the frame. Bell tech front and rear sway bars have been added to help improve the quality of the ride. After installing the sway bars and new shocks the truck has zero body roll. Taking corners or switching lanes on the interstate, truck sticks to the ground! After being lowered the front end was aligned and tired kicked back out.

Engine/Trans - Recently completed an LS swap on this truck. Now has a 01' Vortec and 4L60E transmission. Engine was torn down, machined and rebuilt by a local race shop. Heads have been machined, port matched and polished. All new valve train, valve seats; everything was replaced on the heads. LS Hot cam with matching pushrods and lifters were installed. All components were replaced with new GM parts from oil pump to knock sensors. The only part of the motor that is stock is the bottom end. Reassembled with all new ARP hardware. This was built to handle nitrous or turbo, neither one have been installed on this motor. Running a stock TBSS intake and fuel rail which has the best air flow for the 92 mm throttle body. All wires have been cleaned up and hidden so the engine bay doesn't look like a spider web. Since the swap the engine has less than 300 miles on it. More than enough power for a daily driver, but has power when needed! The truck was trailered up to Excessive Auotsports in SD to be tuned. This will hold you back in the seat through the whole rpm range. All new aluminum four core radiator and electric fan set up. Speed Engineering headers were installed along with all new exhaust which includes electric cutout and Magnaflow mufflers. Current rear end in the truck is a 12 bolt with 3.73 gears. I have a rearend that is not currently in the truck that will go with the new owner. It is a 12 bolt with Richamond 4.10 gears and posi unit. The drums are new, along with all the brake parts. The stock 3.73 set of gears will go with the truck as well. I have all paperwork related to the engine build. The transmission has been complete torn down as well and rebuild to handle the power. Driveshaft and joints have been updated to handle the power and higher rpms.

Wheels/Tires - New set of 20" Riddler wheels gray centers and machined lips. 20" x 10" in the rear and 20" x 9.5" in the front. A center cap is missing on one of the wheels. I still have it but a clip was broke. I have a set of rally wheels with no tires that are included as well.

Interior - The seat could use a new cover. The door panels and dash could you either painted or replaced. The cab is originally and a/c cab. I had planned on installing a vintage air kit to clean up the firewall and replace all the old components, it just never happened. All glass beside the windshield is in great condition. Windshield has a small crack down low close to the dash. Side vents open and shut as they should, no water leaks. The gauges are out of a 91' burb, speedo works like a factory one. All gauge work and are accurate.

The only thing to complete this build is an interior! And depending if you prefer the patina look, paint! The truck is mechanical sound with zero issues. I told zero shortcuts when building this. I have a folder with all of the receipts for the parts/labor that has been done to this. Truck was tuned using HP Tuners. I have a tuner and credits for this motor that'll go with. If you would like more information or pictures please contact me and I will get them for you as I'm sure I have missed a few things. I hate to see this go but the time has come... Thanks for looking!
