Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1964
At the buyers expense, I will cooperate and assist with getting the car safely on a professional movers trailer.
If you look up the VIN, you will see it decodes to 1964 Chevelle Super Sport 8 cylinder convertible 2 door, built in Baltimore Maryland. Only 9,559 convertible super sports were made in 1964 making this a rare muscle car.
1964 chevelle malibu SS convertible for sale. This is an original SS that is a body off restoration car. The interior, convertible top, and driveline are all less than 1 year since being rebuilt/replaced. The paint and bodywork is approximately 3 years old. It has been upgraded to power disc brakes, power steering, and air conditioning.
The history on the car, a restoration was started by the previous owner around 10 years ago. They had a shop do a body off job restoring the frame, and installing a new complete 1 piece floor and trunk pan. The lower quarters were properly replaced with GM restoration approved panels with a seamless install. I bought the car 2 years ago already painted and put back together, but with no engine, transmission, interior, or top. We were able to find original 1964 Chevelle parts to source the missing interior and top, which has all been restored and re-upholstered. The floor underside has been sprayed in sound deadening undercoating.
For the engine we were able to locate a June 1963 produced 283 195hp engine, that we had fresh bored to .020 over and fully rebuilt. The transmission has been upgraded to a 3 speed th350 and has also been fully rebuilt. Less than 1000 miles on both pieces.
On top of the already mentioned stuff above, here's a list of what's been replaced:
-complete new weatherstripping and rubber seal kit
-window felts
-2.5" dual exhaust
-Tires are like new match set of Continental 205/65/r15
-chrome rally wheels
-gas tank
-all new brake and fuel lines
-front disc brake kit
-rear drum shoes and cylinders
-600 cfm holley carb
-Carpet, door panels, arm rests, all upholstery, all handles and cranks inside and out.
-Air conditioning kit (134a)
-power steering kit
-aluminum radiator
-all hoses and belts
-water pump
-alternator
-fuel pump-windshield
I'll do my best to give a thorough disclaimer on the cars condition so buyers can look with confidence. I'd personally rate the body and paint a 8/10, solid driver quality. Has a fantastic gloss and no wavy stuff in the body work. I was assured no DA sander ever touched this car and its long-block sanding only, and it shows with the straightness of the panels. see close up pics with reflections. There are a couple blemishes but nothing out of the ordinary for a driver classic car. The passenger quarter glass needs to be adjusted better, as it sits it doesn't line up that well when rolled up. There are some chips on the paint at the front of the driver's door, presumably from someone opening the door with the car jacked up. The trim is about half new and half oem. The trim around the convertible top has dents and dings because the new stuff is on a long backorder. After closing the hood, you have to manually push the rear corners of the hood down. I was told the China reproduction hinges are worse, so I've been on the lookout for a nice oem pair. The radio does not work. The drivers vent window chrome has some rust on the interior side, which can be seen in a one of the pics.
Haggerty classic insurance values the car at 30,400 in good condition, and 24,900 if only fair. So my price is a realistic cash private sale value. Its a rare option factory SS car and it's value goes up every year.
This is a clean car ready for a new home. Clean NC title in hand.
