Description for Chevrolet K5 1972
With its triple-black package, V8 power, 4x4 prowess, and full convertible appeal, this 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer has been restored to the kind of standard for those who demand their classics have true distinction. Black paint is terrific when it's this glossy, but it takes much more than just an investment in color. It needs great sheetmetal to make the color look like a midnight masterpiece. So you can really tell they made a total investment when restoring this classic Blazer. They took their time with the details, too. The bumpers are new and shine like mirrors; the full-length trim is straight and fresh; and the hardtop has a textured black appearance (almost like a classic muscle car with vinyl top.) And speaking of that fiberglass top, remember this was the era of the fully removable roof to turn this Blazer into a full convertible. The restored black interior completes the ultra-desirable triple-black package. And while we love these on muscle cars, this Blazer reminds us that trucks do it a little differently. After all, you still get the individual comfort of a bucket seat, but it's textured in the classic country pattern that came on the upper trims of the Chevy pickups. In fact, they really paid attention to getting the classic appearance correct â€" right down to the AM radio that's still on display. But more than a great time capsule, this is an excellent cruiser. The center console, new stock steering wheel, and crisp gauges make driving easy. And the ride height of this 4x4 SUV even towers over a lot of new machines to give you a commanding view of the road. Under the hood is Chevy's famous 350 cubic-inch V8. You can tell they took their time with the restoration to even get the engine bay right, and there's a long list of new components. So the bold orange block looks terrific as its radiating from within the darkness. A trusty and tough V8 like this is great in a go-anywhere 4x4. And the way it fires up readily and idles smoothly reflects more of a good investment. Topped with a Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, it makes plenty of power and the right rumble from the header-fed dual exhaust. The lifted stance, BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As, and the recently rebuilt two-speed transfer case gives you the confidence to take this one up the trail or out on the dunes. But more than just an off-roader, this one will look good rolling down Main Street. So this is built to be an easy cruiser thanks to a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. Here's a full-sized, full-convertible 4x4 that was restored to turn heads on the street and trail. That's why we love this Chevy, and it's also why we know it's deal that will be leaving us quickly.
