Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1968
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this rare NCRS top flight 1968 Chevrolet Corvette for your consideration. Finished in Silverstone Silver with a Black interior and powered by its original numbers matching 427 cubic inch 400hp engine, 4-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, tinted glass, power steering, power brakes complete with tank sticker. Paint is in great condition, according to our vehicle intake inspection, everything is working on this vehicle. Only 116 Corvettes were built with the 427/400hp, 4 speed,... A/C, power brakes and power steering. Believed to be a three owner vehicle; the current owner has had the vehicle for approximately 10 years. The mileage on the odometer is believed to be original as substantiated by the original owner's personal maintenance notes in the original owner's manual. The vehicle received an NCRS top flight award in 2004 and has only a few hundred miles since then. The overall score was 96.48% and the deficits noted on the judging sheets have been corrected as noted in available documents. In September of 2018, the vehicle completed a $21,000+ freshening which included an overhaul or replacements of all major systems, key components and appearance items (receipts available). This Vette has provenance including tank sticker, owner's manual (with original owner's manual notes), 2004 NCRS regional top flight certificate and judging sheets, as well as receipts from the 2004 restoration and complete documentation of the freshening completed in 2018. The 2018 freshening was completed in September of 2018 at Masterworks Corvette in Madison Heights, Michigan. Masterworks was founded by Werner Meier, a General Motors engineer/manager who spent 25+ years in the Corvette group. His work and dedication to the hobby have earned him admittance in the Corvette Hall of Fame. He is also an NCRS senior judge and group judge at the Concours d'Elegance of America. Regarded as one of the best in the world at Corvette judging and restoration, Werner has restored dozens of notable Corvettes including cars built for Harley Earl, Bill Mitchell and other legendary Corvette influencers. His restorations have been put on display at the National Corvette Museum, Gilmore Car Museum, Lingenfelter Collection and GM Heritage Center in Bowling Green. Few people understand, or know how to restore Corvettes as this man does. To see over 80 photos of the car, including under carriage please visit our website br/-
