Description for Chevrolet Corvette 1979
1979 L-82 Corvette unrestored survivor, VIN number 1Z8749S452639 which, was manufactured in the General Motors St Louis Plant on September 19, 1979. The car was delivered to Mike Turk Inc. Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac located in East Liverpool, Ohio on October 27, 1979; the miles at delivery were 17. It was originally purchased by the first owner who lived in West Virginia. The first owner eventually sold the car to second owner from Pennsylvania on November 24, 1986. The car had 11,762 miles on the odometer at the time of sale. The second owner then sold the car to me on January 19, 2014. The car had 35,127 miles at date of sale. This Corvette continues to have an unrestored original status. It is fully documented with the majority of the maintenance history intact. The car received received Top Flight status at the NCRS chapter level. This car is [show quality] but has the minor imperfections of an unrestored survivor. This car would also qualify for Blooming Gold Survivor certification. Most everything on this car was installed the day it was manufactured in St Louis including the working original headlights. I have swapped out the original headlights with new ones in order to preserve them in working order. The same goes for the original exhaust and catalytic converter which has been removed and stored and a Magnaflow exhaust system installed. The mint original dated laminated glass T-tops and storage bags are stored in a protective case to avoid breakage and tempered reproductions are on the car. Even the original paper air cleaner ducts are like new in the boxes replaced with the vinyl NOS reproductions. The radio with 8 track player and power antenna work well. Also an assortment of 8 track tapes including the original demo tape that came from the factory. All the original parts can be reinstalled for the NCRS judging. This car has all of the documentation including the shipping invoice even the business card of the salesperson who sold the car as shown in the photos minus the EPA sticker. The tank sticker remains on the gas tank where originally installed. I had no intention to remove it because I have all of the documentation I needed. The car also comes with the original keys including the knock outs. Also, the original spare tire and jack remain. The air conditioner was updated from R12 Freon to R134a but needs charging as a result of sitting in the garage for long periods of time, it does work. All manuals and historical documentation original and NOS parts as shown in the pics go with the car. This car is in beautiful working condition and shows well at the car shows. I'm looking forward to turning this car over to someone who can appreciate the nature of this car and willing to continue on with its way to National NCRS Top Flight and/or Bloomington Gold.
