Description for Chevrolet K5 1989
This truck is serious. Seriously powerful, seriously capable, and seriously good looking. You can drive it uptown where it will turn heads or drive it out into the middle of nowhere to clear yours. Read through the basics presented here, then come on down to get the rest of the story and check it out for yourself. Describing this truck from the top down seems like describing the icing on a cake first. It has received a...frame off restoration, and the best stuff is on the inside, but the icing is what you see first. So... how about that Protronic Blue paint? It is actually a BMW color but looks totally awesome on this Blazer. It seems to be saying go big or go home as it flows up and over the cowl induction hood and highlights the body crease that is at eye level now because of the lift kit. The front end has been converted to 1985 style sheet metal with LMC parts that includes new doors, and a billet grill leads the way. Everything is new from the bumpers and trim to the glass and the mirrors. The removable hardtop makes for some nice open air 4-wheeling while keeping any water from rain or splashing through the creeks from getting the driver and passenger wet. Open the door and you will find an interior that is both simple and sophisticated with LMC supplying many of the parts. The door panel looks like it would on any street-oriented Blazer. The armrest is comfortable for cruising down the road, but if you hit the dirt, you may want to be hanging onto it, or the steering wheel pretty tight. If you plan to get really serious, you may even want to round up a 5-point harness system that those leather wrapped off road seats are set up for. A 4-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel sits in front of a metal overlaid dash with the tach and speedo in the center and Dakota digital gauges for water temp, fuel, oil pressure and voltage gauges clearly visible off to the left. There is a Winters gated shifter for the tricked out automatic transmission set in the floor right next to the shifter for the transfer case. Raptor liner that is color matched to the truck coats the rest of the interior for good looks and easy maintenance. Ok, lots of good stuff in the engine and drivetrain to cover here. Call one of our sales people or come down to get complete details and check it out for yourself. There is a 454 cubic inch HO crate engine under that cowl induction hood which is running a Procharger D1SC supercharger and makes about 520 horsepower as well as serious amounts of torque. It is blowing through a Demon 850cfm carb, runs MSD ignition, and exhausts through Doug's tri Y headers and Magnaflow stainless exhaust and mufflers. An aluminum radiator with electric fans keeps things running cool. Power flows back through a 4L80 automatic trans with a full manual valve body and non-lock up converter to the transfer case and then to the axles set up with 4.11 gears. The rear is a 14-bolt full floating setup with a Yukon locker. A BDS lift kit raises things up 4" and uses Fox 2.0 shocks and Crossover steering to keep things under control. Stainless steel brake lines are tough and keep the pressure on while EBC Yellowstuff brake pads clamp the front rotors. 20" RBP wheels get to power on the ground through General Grabber tires and look good while doing it. Seriously powerful, capable, and good looking. Come on down and check this truck out. This one could be yours. Seriously.
