Vintage SpeedShop Presents;
"Country Bluesâ€
A 1970 C10 CUSTOM FACTORY SHORTY
Vintage SpeedShop Just completed this frame off restoration! We started with an all original, one owner, RUST FREE, factory short bed truck for this build. This truck comes with the original California 'pink slip' title and the factory build sheet!!! Every panel is factory steel and there is not one patch or cut anywhere on this truck. This is one of those rare opportunities to own a rust free, one owner, Vintage truck that everyone is hunting high and low for!
Paint
We preserved the factory patina paint for this build, and touched up with paintina where necessary. We then clear coated the entire truck in an ultra high gloss. After paint, we took it in for paint correction where it was color sanded and buffed to a mirror shine!! With this truck being so rust free, and protected with an ultra high quality top coat, this Vintage paint will last another 50 years. it's truly the perfect patina for that classic C10 look. The bed is sporting a protective "rhino bed liner" by our friends at Bedliner Veterans!
SUSPENSION AND CHASSIS
Don't let the paint fool you. Underneath that preserved finish is a completely restored C10! We started by removing the body from the frame. We then stripped the frame down to bare metal and applied a fresh coat of chassis paint from our friends and sponsors at Por15 Inc. We converted the rear axle to 5 lug bolt pattern and changed the front to 5 lug while doing a disc brake conversion. We installed new ball joints, tie rod ends, springs and shocks and gave it an altitude adjustment with a 3â€/5" lowered stance. We upgraded to an adjustable pan hard bar to keep the rear axle tracking correctly.
DRIVETRAIN
No expense was spared when it came to the drivetrain in "Country Blues." For the exact process on the motor build in this truck, check it out atwww.superchevy.com/how-to/engines-drivetrain/1101chp-383-stroker-top-end-build/. This 383 stroker features Edelbrock 23 degree E-210 aluminum cylinder heads, hydraulic roller camshaft (2.08-/1.60 inch intake/exhaust) a polished RPM air-gap manifold to maximize low and mid range torque while carrying the horsepower through the upper powerband, making it ideal for this stroker motor! The motor runs on 91 octane to accommodate for the 9.6:1 compression ratio. The motor peaks at 471 horse power at 4500 RPM. Torque peaks at 471 ft.lb as well, @ 6100 RPM. Added to the mix is a "Quick Fuel" Carb, MSD digital 6AL ignition, ceramic coated headman headers, Mallory Comp. 9000 unilite breaker-less distributor, MSD plug wires, forged internals, roller rocker arms and chrome polished and aluminum brackets, pullies and accessories. All of that is channeled through 3.5" exhaust side pipes that really shows off the sound of that cam lope!! In front of the motor we are running a GRIFFIN 4 core polished aluminum radiator with temperature regulated dual electric fans. For brakes we opted for WILWOOD master cylinder and Prop. Valve to ensure this truck stops as good as it runs! Mated to the motor is a "no expense spared" 700r4 transmission, complete with Kevlar clutches, corvette servos and all upgraded hardware to make this transmission virtually indestructible! And just to make sure the running gear has no weak links, a BOWLER BILLET 700R4 1800 stall converter that was designed for street and strip applications was added. Check them out at;www.bowlertransmissions.com/shop/ccessories/converters/billet-stall-converter/
INTERIOR
Interior is something I take my time designing for each individual truck and since "Country Blues" was originally going to be my personal truck, I had plenty of time to design exactly what I wanted for this build. We went with Black and houndstooth, adding our signature inlays to visors, door panels, and seat. We upgraded the door panels to the '72 mold injected style and kept the Vintage "horeshoe" pattern in the seat, in our tradition of blending the 'old look' with new, custom designs that we came up with, right here at Vintage SpeedShop, including our beloved cupholders! (Ever made a run to the gas station in your classic truck...? Then you know why I add them to every build!!!) We upgraded the steering column to tilt, and added a custom steering wheel to compliment and complete this interior package! We left the factory radio in place because the only music we think you will want to enjoy is coming from those 471 horses that are harmonically tuned, coming out the tail pipe!!!
