Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1955

The 1955 Chevrolet marked the beginning of the famed Tri-Five series. Over the past 60 years, these cars have remained highly-collectible, and the '55 Bel Air is certainly sought after. This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air post sedan is a great car for the hardcore collector looking to take it to the next level or the casual enthusiast looking for a really fun daily driver. The classic body design of this legendary automobile is timeless. It's still as...attractive now as it was back then. The post is, of course, the two-door sedan version of the 1955 Bel Air and one of the more common "shoeboxes" you'll see at the cruise-in. As you survey the craftsmanship of days gone by, you'll be thoroughly impressed when you see just how solid the body is on this vehicle. Granted, you may see a scratch here or imperfection there, but at this price point the finish is about as good as you'll find, and we think it looks great. And you will be more than a little relieved to see that there are no major rust issues, no noticeable dents, and the doors open and close very well. The bumpers, door handles and mirrors are new, although the rest of the chrome and bright work could stand to be replaced if you want to eventually show this car. Overall, this '55 shines well, but there are a few small areas where it is starting to lose a little luster. But most of the hard work is done, and this 'ol girl really looks great going down the road! The spacious '55 Bel Air interior has had some recent work, with nicely reupholstered cloth front and reach bench seats, door panels, carpet and headliner. Again, like the exterior, most of the heavy-lifting is already done inside. It's a color combination that looks good against the gray metallic exterior paint job. Of course, there's plenty of room for the whole family. So load 'em up, turn up the volume on the AM radio, and let's go cruising. A new steering wheel and shifter allow for efficient gear selection, while a repainted Bel Air dash and original gauges remain intact. All-in-all, a basic and comfortable interior in good shape, perfect for long cruises with the family. Mechanically, this Bel Air amazingly still has its original, numbers matching 265 V8, spinning what is believed to be the original Powerglide as well. Now that's not something you see very often in a Tri-5. Sure it's not nicely detailed in the engine bay, but it is honest, and some recent maintenance work like the starter, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel tank, and alternator were all replaced. A look underneath reveals a solid but not detailed chassis with all the suspension parts in decent condition and newer air shocks installed. A little elbow grease and time would go a long way toward a better presentation, but a whole teardown certainly isn't required. This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a really neat car that could play well to a broad audience. Here we have one of those cars that can be thoroughly enjoyed just as it sits. On the other hand, you can invest a little time and money and end up with a showpiece. Either way, you can't go wrong with this automobile. Call today!
