An uncommon occurrence and rare chance to have such an early production Corvette from the then newly established, Bowling Green Plant in Kentucky. This is car number 44 in production sequence from the Bowling Green Plant. I have e-mails from the current curator of The Corvette Museum verifying that this indeed is car #44. I will forward the e-mails to the new owner. The last Corvette built in the St. Louis, Missouri plant was on July 31, 1981. The plant was closed and all tooling, equipment was moved the new Bowling Green Facility. And of course then along came the C-4 in 1984. No Corvettes were built for consumers in 1983. Clearly, making this #44 car somewhat historically significant in Corvette lore. The number 1 and 2 Corvettes from the Bowling Green plant sold in 2010 for nearly $300K of which, were in pristine condition. A good article and source is on Vette Vues - Feel free to Google. Which brings us to # 44 in need of restoration. The engine cranks over however, does not start and is currently a non runner. Tires are holding well and car rolls nicely making it relativity easy to trailer. The history of car is that it was built into a street racer and then stored after owner fell into financial duress and then divorce. It features a racing fuel cell, Aero wheels with Hankook Ventus H101's, new wires & cap, Optima Gel battery, Mallory ignition and Procar by Scat racing seats with belts just to name a few.
