Classic trucks have now surpassed classic cars in collector circles. Hagerty News has published yet another article on January 30, titled "Traditional American classics continue their slump." In this article, they reinforce the transition in popularity from cars to trucks. They suggest that now is the time to buy. Virtually all major price guide values are displaying steady price increases. Collectors are now purchasing trucks, expecting increased returns on their investment.

Hagerty also lists the 1973-1987 C10 as number two on the top ten classic truck list. C10 was the longest running pickup line in GM history, 40 years, from 1960-2000.

The third generation, 1973-1987, was also the the longest lived series in Chevrolet history. Chevrolet had been working on the all new, thoroughly complete design since 1968.

Chevrolet had changed the industry and left their competitors behind in the 15 year run for the 1973-1987 C and K Series Trucks.

The redesign was revolutionary in appearance at the time, looking like nothing else on the road. The third-generation trucks are known as the Square Body or Box Body generation. In addition to revolutionary design, Chevrolet also pioneered in safety revisions.

In 1986, the Silverado model featured more safety, comfort, and reliability than any other truck on the market.

Most all of the collector pick ups that you see on eBay are not abodyoffrestoration. This trucksbodywas taken completelyoffthe frame, repainted, and newbodybushings installed. This is a tremendous amount of work, mostbodyoffrestorations take up to 1000 man hours to complete. All other trucks you see for sale that are restored are frame up restorations, that type of restoration takes less than half the time to do than a fullbodyoffthe frame restoration. Restoration shops can charge up to 100 per hr for labor, that price does not include parts or paint and bodyshop materials. With that said, you can see the tremendous value in our truck and the great price we are offering it at. At this price, if you were given the truck for free and the parts, materials to restore it, the labor cost alone would be way over what we are offering it to you for. We have been selling collector cars for over 40 years. JJ Best is the finance company that we have worked with since 1996.
