Description for Chevrolet El Camino 1966
Award Winning Highly Optioned El Camino 396/360hp 4-speed Bucket Seats A/C /// Assembled at GM's Fremont manufacturing facility in December of 1965, this fully sorted Elco mixes a coveted 396/4-speed drivetrain with a roster of factory options. During the car's ground-up, concours restoration, completed by Whitehall Auto Restorations of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, its body was massaged laser-straight and coated in correct Sandalwood Tan 2-stage. And presently, this Chevy rolls as a stunning classic that complements multiple Antique Automobile Club of America... awards with a roster of Vintage Chevy Club of America honors. Under the hood, 396 cubic inches of dressed big block leads a tough Muncie 4-speed and a requisite GM 12-bolt. That pumpkin pushes a fully rebuilt suspension that's so fresh it still features bright, reproduction tags. Turns come courtesy of factory power steering. Stops are provided by power-assisted drums. And at the corners of the car, 14-inch steelies twist 7.75-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around optional wire wheel covers. Naturally, this El Camino's thorough restoration included the installation of a correct Medium Fawn and Light Fawn interior. Firm bucket seats, featuring optional power adjustment for the car's driver, stretch correct imitation leather under deluxe belts. An ornate dash frames rebuilt telemetry above factory Cruise Control, factory air conditioning, a Delco AM/FM radio and a 6,000 RPM tachometer. Beneath that dash, a polished shifter rides a stainless-trimmed console, which parallels 2-tone door panels that front optional power windows. And the driver spins an attractive Chevrolet Rally Wheel around a tilting column. Wrapping an excellent restoration around an athletic drivetrain, this national award-winning Camino is a desirable, well-done collector car. In the market for some cool muscle that's exclusive AND unique? This Chevy is your kind of classic!
