Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1966
Documented Restored L78 Chevelle SS Hdtp 396/375hp V8 4-speed PS PB /// An authentic L78/375hp Chevelle Super Sport that's documented by an original Retail Order and an original Protect-O-Plate, this hardtop is the beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration. The recently completed reboot dressed solid sheetmetal in correct and handsome Chateau Slate 2-stage paint. And today, the car rolls as one very impressive classic that's poised to show or cruise! Check the engine bay and you'll find the storied 396/375hp... big block V8, which was the most powerful engine offered in a '66 Chevelle SS. The VIN-matched and date-correct big block is equipped appropriately with a lightweight Winters intake, a big Holley carburetor and upgraded roller valve-train. That impressive mill twists torque to a tough aluminum Muncie 4-speed, which spins a familiar 12-bolt axle. That drivetrain rolls on a fully rebuilt suspension that's augmented with factory power steering and power front disc and rear drum brakes. Cast iron exhaust manifolds dump spent gases in to aluminized pipes, which pierce dual-chamber Flowmaster mufflers. And at the corners, stainless-trimmed Rally Wheels spin 7.75-14 Firestone Deluxe Champion redlines. Between the doors, a classy and correct Ivory bucket seat interior is surrounded by a restored dash, rebuilt telemetry, and an updated direct-fit AM/FM radio. At the base of that dash, a factory console frames a flashy, Corvette-style shifter. And in front of the driver, an ornate steering wheel spins speed drilled spokes around a vintage tachometer. If you're looking for a highly desirable classic that'll provide years of weekend fun, and rack up more than its fair share of fans in the process, this Chevelle is your hot ticket!
