Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1973
OK here is my 1973 Chevelle Laguna relisted at NO RESERVE!!!!!! Thats right guys NO RESERVE!!!! Must Sell dont miss out on this opportunity for a steal on a frame off restored 1973 Laguna. Please reread the entire listing because I made some changes to it. I have my 1973 Chevelle Laguna up for sale. This is a frame off restored car that was completed in 2011 and is an excellent car. It has only 2800 miles on it since the resto. This car has no rust to speak of and was a solid car even before I started the frame off resto back in 2009 except for the top (more on that later). My body guy who painted this car for me said that this car had less rust than his 2005 truck. LoL Very little rust repair had to be done in this restoration to the lower parts of the car. That being said this is a very hard car to do a total restoration on. Parts are not redily available and are very difficult to find. This car has had almost every thing replaced with new and many NOS parts also. The Grill is NOS and I was very fortunate to find that. All new Glass and that was another one that was very difficult to find. New 383 mild stroker installed. I do still have the original numbers matching 350 to go with the car. I just didn’t want to build it into a 383 just in case someone wanted to put the stock motor back in someday. However it does need to be rebuilt. it is very tired. Rebuilt turbo 350 tranny and rear end. I put a new 355 Posi gear in the rear end though and threw out the old 273 non posi. All new interior was installed including swivel buckets and a Hurst Promatic 2 Shifter. The old dash guages were trashed and a custom all Auto Meter Instrument panel was installed and works great. I put in Auto Meter Cobalt guages and they look great at night. very easy to see. A complete new Painless wire system was installed and replaced all the old wiring. I also did a lot of rechrome on the body parts. The tail light bezels were done along with the headlight bezels. they look great and if you know these cars you know how hard it is to find an excellent set that arent all pitted and rotten. It is very difficult to find a good set. These are awsome. Fender emblems were rechromed. NOS fender well trim. Another very difficult to find part. NOS Chevelle trunk emblem also. Lucky to find that one. Oh yeah the dash was sent off to Just Dashes in CA and they remade a new dash pad for me. 850 bucks alone just for that. It is pretty pricey to have them do it but it is the only real option for these cars if you want a primo repacement. I had a dash pad cover but just wasn’t pleased with that so last year I had Just Dashes do the remake. It is AWSOME and the only real way to do a proper resto of one. This car took two cars to make one good one. The only bad part on this car was the top. It was originally a vinyl top car and it had the usual rust under it. I purchased another Malibu from New Mexico that had an excellent top and had it shipped here. Vintage Fabrication in Independence. Mo. cut the bad top off and installed the new one on. This was very expensive to do. They do it all the time and it was no problem for them to do but it is expensive. The top is very nice now with no rusto at all. Just like new. The car also has cut outs installed into the exhaust and are the ones mfr from Dougs and they work great. Nothing better than pulling up besides an ole ford and opening the cut outs and giving them a little scare. LOL!! Na. just kidding. I like all muscle cars but they do sound great and people love it. The car has 17” Torque Thrust wheels made by American Racing and are great wheels. New brakes & rotars and pads. New Brake Booster. New brake lines. New fuel Lines. New fuel tank. New sending unit. All New AC components. New steering box. New Headers. All new exhaust and mufflers. New body bushings. New shocks. whole car was blasted and repainted. The frame and underside and trunk was coated with a very durable truck frame paint called Dellfleet. It is a very durable and tough paint for truck frames and should last for a very long time. Bumper trim is in excellent condition. Another hard one to find a good set of. (Revised Part)The only adjusting I had to do to the body was to add a ½ inch spacer to the left spring in the rear to level the rear. Since I had to do this I thought I should measure and post. Here are the dimensions I took today from the floor to the top center of the outer fender well. Driver Front 26 3/8. nbsp;Passenger Front 26 9/16. Driver Rear 27 1/8. Passenger Rear 27 1/2. It is not off by much but I did want to make you aware of the acurate measurements. As you can see in the picture from the rear it would be very difficult to notice this but it is a touch off. but not much. Im pretty picky. nbsp;I measured my 2004 Jeep and it is off by 1/8 in the rear. I dont think any car is perfect. You can see how she sits in the pictures. What you see is what you get. Before I put the 1/2 inch spacer under the driver rear spring I had the frame checked and the guy told me he couldnt find anything off. ??? The paint is Granada Black and it does have a hint of metalflake in direct sunlight. The paint is a 7 out of 10. not show quality but still very nice. There are a couple of chips and scuffs but not very noticable. All I can say is this is a very rare car to find with this kind of restoration and I doubt you will find one this good just about anywhere. Two weeks ago a guy ran an ad for a black 73 Laguna that was a stock 454 car but it is starting to get rough and rust was starting in the fender wells and everywhere else under the car and all over the motor compartment. It made it up to 9600 bid and wasn’t even close to the caliber of this car. If you have any questions at all don’t hesitate to contact me Marc 816-529-1535. We can talk on the phone if you would like or we can schedule a time for you to come and see the car if you would like. If you purchase this car and come to pick it up and you arent happy with it we can cancel the sale if you would like. I am very confident in the car and don’t want anyone unhappy with it. However after she is taken away there is no warranty at all. no returns. I am sure you know this. Muscle cars are not warrantied. LoL!!! It drives great and handles great in the corners. New body bushings make such a difference. The 383 stroker has good pull and performes very nicely. People really love this car and I have had nothing but positive responses about it in the few shows I have entered her in and on cruise nights when I have had her out. So why am I selling? Easy one. I have several other projects I am doing and am not driving this car near enough. I don’t want to see it fall apart with all the work and money I have put into this rebuild. It needs to go to someone who is going to use her and enjoy her. I have 35K in this car and it would have been a lot more if I would have had someone else do all the restoration. I did as much as I could myself and had the other stuff done by other professionals. I did all the assembley and I had others do the paint interior and electrical. Well I guess that is about it. like I said don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions at all. The car was appraised in 2012 and it was valued at $22. 00. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!Here is a link to my You Tube Video I made of the restoration of the car. Enjoy!https://www. youtube. com/watch?v=mmoAtzj6XXs
