Description for Chevrolet C-10 1968
This C10 is both mild and wild. At first sight, it looks pretty conservative in its simple Silver and Black paint job. However, as you get closer, you realize that the paint job is really something special, and that the wild side of this truck is on the inside. Check it out. You could describe this paint job as "deceptively simple". The devil is in the details, and the results are outstanding. Before a single drop of... paint was sprayed on this truck, the surfaces were prepared so that it would look super smooth and slick when it was done. From the side, the body line that runs along the bottom and up over the wheel wells is obvious just because of the way the light catches it. Black traces around the upper surface of the hood, accentuating the cowl induction power bulge, then flows back around the windshield pillar and door frame. Some outstanding custom pinstriping work adds some nice flourishes and traces the border between the colors. A simple silver grill flanked by LED headlights is underlined by a sharp looking chrome bumper. At the rear, the look is kept super clean by only featuring more of that trick pinstriping work. Staggered Vision wheels in Black balance out the look perfectly and add a nice bit of chassis rake to the picture. When you open the door, you will get a taste of the wild side of this truck. There you will find a Bright Green and Black interior that, yes, is wild, but is also very tastefully done. The door panel is black with a green bowtie and is held in place by silver brushed metal strips top and bottom. There is a comfortable bench seat with pleated green seating surfaces trimmed in smooth black vinyl with green piping. A GT steering wheel is mounted on a chrome 4-spoke hub with an Autogage Tachometer mounted on the column. The dash is green with a black upper pad and a chrome insert houses Dolphin gauges for the speedometer as well as tach, water temp, oil pressure, fuel and voltage. An AM/FM and iPod compatible stereo is mounted in the center for your listening pleasure and black carpeting ties the look of the interior together nicely. Pop the hood and you will find another surprise that falls on the wild side. It is an LS1 5.3-liter Vortech motor sourced from a 2000-year model truck that has been nestled down in this neat and clean engine bay. A cold air intake frees up the airflow in, while headers get the spent gasses out efficiently to dual mufflers that turn down just ahead of the rear axle. A nice little splash of bright green dresses out the valve covers and an aluminum radiator keeps things running cool. Power flows back through a 4-speed automatic transmission sourced from the same truck as the engine, so everything works together just like it should, and this truck runs strong! The rear axle is located by trailing arms and sits on coil springs which work together nicely with the control arm front suspension which makes for a great handling truck. The rubber meets the road through 265/40R22s on the back and 255/40R20s in the front mounted on those awesome looking Vision Legend series wheels. Mild and wild. A bit of a sleeper with its conservative looks from a distance but with an LS1 under the hood. Come on down and check it out. You will be able to bring whichever side you wish out to the forefront when you roll this sweet ride into town.
