Description for Chevrolet Corvair 1962
Up for sale is a excellent example of a extremely well kept (garaged), super clean Monza 900 4 speed with 50K+ original miles! I purchased this car from aCorvair enthusiast who wasextremely fastidious in maintenance and all around care. He works as a restorer of vintage WW11 military aircraft for aTexasbillionaire. He bought the car (private sale), from a family of a deceased wealthygentleman'sprivate collection of over 26 classic cars stored in a climate controlledfacility in New Jersey. The car is in incredible condition for the age with a beautiful patina.Original interior is near perfect for a unmolested corvair. And as far as we (paint and body man), can tell, the paint isoriginal. And after seeing the interior, it's easy to extrapolate that conclusion. For the age, the paint is excellent. When it arrived after purchase off ebay, I had a new clutch installed, tune up, dual exhaust from Clarks and oil change. My (then), mechanic wentthrough the car and was extremely impressed of it's "time capsule" condition. The "red line" tires have little wear andreally add to the beauty of this excellent example of Motor City history. I have put less than 500+ miles on it since, due to how beautiful original condition and are afraid of some ding dong opening a door on it or worse, so it has stayed in storage with regular star-ups and limited driving. I own a number of Corvairs and don't want a trailer queen. If I can't drive it, what's the point? So nearly 4 years of ownership, I've decided to "re-home" this beauty to another corvairenthusiast. I would be interested in trading as I am looking for arampie or Greenbriar in excellent condition, no "bondo mobiles" or junk will be considered so sorry, please do not waist your time. I am not a mechanic, but endeavor to be as forthcoming with all that I know about this sweet ride. I will send more pics as . So please ask as many questions or Iwould strongly suggest coming to see it personally. If the interested buyer cannot, perhaps have a proxy take a look. Car drives great and as it should. Shifts smoothly and handles well. A heater control issue needs tending to. The fan works, but I believe the rear vent flap is non working, but does provide heat. I believe in being as clear (honest), as I would hope other sellers would do for me. Check my feedback. $500 is due at the end of the auction, or "buy it now" with bank draft or overnight verified cashiers check for theremainder within 3 business days. I will help with shipping. Please do contact me via ebay or my cell @ (828)-337-5241) texting works best as it can be hit or miss on cell signal. Happy bidding!
