Description for Chevrolet C-10 1972
Good, clean honest trucks like this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne are harder to find than you'd think. Most of them were used as trucks, and those that are still around are either major projects or high-end builds that look far nicer than they did when they were new. But sometimes you find one that's "just right," a truck like this that's ready to work or play and looks great doing it. The copper and white paint scheme... is perfect for 1972 and also works great today now that copper metallic paint is suddenly back in fashion. Instead of looking dated, it has a period-perfect charm that totally works on an old pickup, particularly with the white accents. The truck has had a very high-end respray, but still gives this C10 a very authentic look that pickup truck fans will appreciate. The sheetmetal underneath is pretty darned nice with great panel alignment that's accentuated by the long trim that was part of the Cheyenne package. And speaking of trim, this truck is a real-deal Cheyenne, which means a lot of stainless trim to dress it up, including the rocker trim and tailgate panel with blacked-out inserts that are the perfect complement from the '70s. The bed is in great condition because it was repainted with the rest of the truck and treated to an oak bed, and it shows very little wear today. But that doesn't mean it's not ready, willing, and able to get to work! The beautiful interior is up to snuff, with handsome black leather and houndstooth upholstery on the factory bench and a whole lot of new equipment. In fact, pretty much everything you can see or touch IS newer, including the carpets, door panels, and even the seat belts. Power steering, power brakes, and A/C were all part of the deal, along with a handsome two-spoke steering wheel that would look equally at home in a Camaro. The gauges in these trucks are perhaps the best-looking factory instruments of the era, all fully operational and with crisp graphics on their faces, and the Cheyenne door panels give the truck an added upscale feel. A modern retro AM/FM/iPod compatible stereo radio was fitted in the dash without cutting, so it looks like it was born there and pumps the cab full of tunes. The engine is a recently rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8, which provides plenty of power in the relatively lightweight C10, especially with a few upgrades. The engine bay is clean but shows signs of having been used as intended since the restoration, which means that it runs right and doesn't have major issues. There's Chevy orange paint on the block, which probably isn't original but like the bodywork, it could pass for it. An open-element K&N air cleaner, a Holley 650CFM 4-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and longtube headers that feed a throaty Flowmaster dual exhaust system that's pretty recent all mean that this is a truck that's designed to be used. It starts easily and idles well, and the 350 is torquey enough to make driving it fun. The 700R4 automatic transmission shifts nicely and there are reasonable 3.73 gears out back, so it's quick enough for today's traffic but cruises easily at highway speeds. The undercarriage is in solid and original shape, thanks to a long life of careful ownership. Handsome chrome Cragar SS wheels look great and are fitted with flashy 275/60/15 BFGoodrich white-letter radials at every corner. A handsome truck that's still ready to work yet delivers more fun than expected, all at a very appealing price. Rebuilt less than 5k miles ago, and a Cheyenne to boot. Call today!
