Up for auction is a 1964 Chevrolet C-10 Short Box Fleetside Pickup. This truck was originally purchased in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1964. The truck spent its entire life in Milledgeville until I purchased the truck from the second owner. The first and second owners were good friends and this truck has always been well maintained and serviced regularly since new.
The second owner had the truck completely frame off restored a few years ago. The motor is the original 283 V8 (#3849852) that came new in the truck from the factory. The motor was rebuilt at a race/speed shop in Milledgeville. The second owner worked for the NHRA and he knew how to build this motor right. It is bored .030 over and has a mild cam. The engine starts right up with one turn of the key every time, and it is tuned up, dialed in, just serviced, and it sounds and runs excellent. There are no issues. It has 2,514 miles since the rebuild. There is a YouTube video attached of the truck running. The transmission is GM 4-speed cast iron Saginaw case (#3925656), rebuilt same time as motor with all upgraded parts designed for higher HP. The transmission shifts smooth as glass. The factory 12-Bolt rear end has 3.73 gears.
This truck rides and drives excellent and it is a pleasure to drive. I have been cruising around in it and running 70-80 down the interstate. I love driving this truck and you will also.
The paint on the truck is nice and slick like glass with a mirror finish, however it does have a couple minor chips that have been touched up and it is not perfect paint, but good. The gas tank was removed from behind the seat and replaced with a new under bed tank. The filler neck was filled in when the paint and body was done to give the truck a nice clean look. I did change the stance on the truck
with 4-inch HD lowering springs on the rear and 2-inch on the front from Classic Performance. I like the level stance, and in my opinion the ride is better also.
The interior is custom, and it is clean and sharp looking. All gauges, lights, and so forth work as they should.
This is a real good truck and it always has been. The restoration was done professionally and with performance in mind. It is hard to find classic pickups as good as this one so dont miss out.
