Description for Chevrolet Impala 1964

1964 Chevy Belair 2 door post sedan

It is a very, very cool classic muscle car hot rod, but also a running & driving project. The car is mostly stock & original, it has been in my possession for several years and has had a few improvements along the way.
I just attended a show 80+ miles round trip this past wknd
& got tons of thumbs up & i love it"s", & with a small for sale sign
i got several cash offers & a few possible trades as well.
2 different parties both offered me $5K cash in hand,
both with intentions of "fixing it up & reselling it"
so i figured why not relist it for fun
& see what happens

This car is a magnet wherever i go.
It may very well get sold during the auction as well
SO
i reserve the right to end it at any time

Details:
It has a nicely rebuilt 327 & turbo 350 transmission with a little shift kit that chirps the tires. Has had several suspensions parts replaced & front power disc brake installed.Newer starter, battery, black edelbrock carb & champion radiator, motor still runs coil / points distrib.

Has flowmasters & headers to dual exhaust set up that exits / turns out just before rear tires.
Rear is a posi with unknown ratio app but more so highway gears,
at at 55/60 mph is just around 2200 rpm.
(maybe 3.42)

Car is satin black, it was obviously quickly painted,
along with various body work done many years ago,
(not by myself or anyone i know)
it wasnt a very high quality job at all, but still looks good for a 45 yr old hot rod.
~very much like an old 409 barn find.
Interior has Gm buckets, couple gauges, Mr Gasket floor shifter.Heater & lights & windows are all functional
& most everything "works just fine" for a 50yr old car.

It currently has 15 x 6 American racing wheels on the front with nice - 215 / 65 15 tires& chrome 15 x 8 rally wheels with brand new 275/60/15 rubber on the back, white letters facing in.
I also have 2 brand new matching 15 x 8 chrome rallys for the front
with also matching brand new 235/60/15 tires. Also included are 4 baby moon & 4 disc brake / flag center caps

The body has had most of the emblems removed prior to my ownership
& is straight aside from some basic stuff...like scratches marks & small dings, it is not perfect & has some not so surface
& basic non life threatening rust spots underneath but nothing extraordinary.

The floor & trunk looks clean as well but whomever did the body work / paint
sprayed it all black & also made the wood spare tire cover thing that folds up,
~its functional so i left it to cover some parts / tools.

Also, please note, underneath the hood on the lip behind the emblem rust was fiberglassed / fixed,as well as a small "strip" in the top part of the trunk under the rear deck was fixed / modified
along with the now gone i guess rusty strip underneath the window apparently
It remains as i bought it, unaltered (see pic).

While i have done much to get it to this point i still have a list of to-do's:
Needs: windshield wiper, dash speedometer & interior light,
& cigarette lighter, hooked up, they all work.
Its missing sun visors, needs a radio setup & rear deck cover to be finished.
The horn button tab is broken
The tach works, the triple gauges need redoing,
& the red shift light isnt hooked up to anything, just mounted.
The dash needs repaint, drivers seat kick panels are imperfect,
& the drivers side valve cover leaks.
I have another billet valve cover pair that matches the billet air cleaner
& matching billet wire looms as well to go on.

The rear deck cover shown is a simple template

All the glass is good but the drivers side mini window is crackedand the rubber moulding needs replacing.

The starter has been replaced this year, but it needs to be shimmed,
Also one of my passenger tail lights comes loose semi often& needs proper fixing.
The interior needs to be gone over, rug redone or replaced
& stereo system installed / hooked up,
The S10 console is just temporary installed for mockup.
Needs to be painted & mounted up nice.

please understand:
This car is a project/ driver. Its quick sure, runs mint, drives & stops excellent & runs cool on hot days.
I am currently driving it here & there & to some local shows on the wknds if weather permits.
Its is awesome & gets constant conversations, offers & attention anywhere i go
so the mileage might change
and/or
it might be sold locally.
