Description for Chevrolet Suburban 1972
It may have a custom look that could give you the impression that it's a heavily modded (and therefore somewhat temperamental) vintage SUV, but looks can often be deceiving. Thoughtfully configured for frequent driving, this recently completed 1972 Chevrolet Suburban C20 is powered by a built 402 V8 and features an elegantly comfortable interior. Take a closer look, this 'Burban has a lot to offer. An unabashedly flashy exterior - featuring gray-on-purple-on-gray paint - replaces the more... subdued original combination this Chevy started out with, and it's a great modification, with the paint showing a nice shine under its very even clear coat. This Suburban's restoration has been performed with an attention to detail, as despite its more than 45 years of service, it emerges as a very well-aligned and finished vehicle, with a very straight, egg crate front grille, clean and level bumpers and trim, flush-fitting body panels with even gaps, and doors and hood that open and shut smoothly. It's got an appealing, distinct appearance - with a single door on the driver's side, the more traditional two-doors on the passenger side, and a rare tailgate in back (instead of the usual ambulance doors) that provides exceptionally easy access to the rear storage area. Viewed from up close, the cabin has a wide-open feel, largely due to carrying no fewer than thirteen panels of glass around its perimeter, with all surrounded by clean trim and new rubber seals. Man, what a looker! Inside you'll find a very comfortable and well-appointed modern Suburban interior - very well-suited to enjoyable, long distance excursions. Its extensive seating - featuring bucket seats up front that straddle a convenient drop-down armrest, with two rows of bench seats in back - has plush gray vinyl wrapped neatly around the bulky seats, with subtle purple piping to match the exterior finish. There's lots of room for you and your passengers to spread out and ride in comfort. The dash area, sitting just beyond the three-spoke steering wheel, has been finished to great effect, with a full assortment of stock gauges sitting inside a new cluster that's set inside the beautifully painted purple dash. A Vintage Air front and rear climate control system has been added and it's in great form, blowing with plenty of force out of the dash-mounted registers up front and headliner-mounted vents in the rear to keep everyone nice and comfortable. Sitting front and center in the dash is a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/AUX/Bluetooth player to expand your audio options. Just beyond the rear tailgate sits a well-proportioned storage area -in great shape and lined with plush carpeting, with a cover over the full-sized spare stowed off to the side. This is a custom SUV that runs with confidence-inspiring reliability. A built 402-cubic inch V8 sits underneath the hood in the expansive engine bay. It's a lightly travelled powerplant, with only 483 miles on its top end, and it features a pair of polished oval port heads to go along with a mild towing cam and hypereutectic pistons to enhance its performance. A Summit Racing carburetor sits atop an Edelbrock Performer intake, and is aided by an HEI ignition system to provide improved all-weather starting and reliability and, with a built TH400 4-speed automatic transmission with a shift kit sitting behind the engine, you'll get the benefit of low-RPM highway motoring along with low-end torque for towing. This truly eye-catching and unique vintage SUV sits on a set of awesome-looking blacked-out 17-inch alloys wrapped with 245/70/17 blackwall radials.
