Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1957
Own a piece of drag racing history! Original Patrick Bros. 1957 Chevy 210 2dr Hardtop "In-Bomber" Jr. Stock Drag Car, NHRA Indy Champion, campaigned out of Omaha, Nebraska 1966-1970. This '57 was part of a three-car team which included Fred Anderson's "Good In-Tension" and Don Stephenson's "Tension". Competed in the '68/'69 NHRA Indy Nationals, '68/'69 Pomona Winternationals, and '69 Dallas Springnationals. The car was H/Stock class champion at Indy in 1968 and Stock Eliminator runner up. Records were broken daily but winning at Indy is the biggest accomplishment a drag racer can make. The car ran a fuel injected 283ci/283hp most of it's career but switched to dual quads for it's final season. It's name "In-Bomber" is a fuel injected play on "Embalmer" with a zombie hand and syringe emblazoned on the sides. The car was fully restored in 2010 to "as raced" appearance. Stunning paint and hand lettered graphics with many rare original and carefully reproduced stickers. All body panels are original. Only 36,327 original miles. One piece "California" frame with 4:56 posi rear and original Tension Team adjustable ladder bars. Original chrome reverse wheels mounted on original new-old-stock Firestone Drag front runners and M/T super stock cheater slicks. The engine is a thick casting 1962 283 stroked & bored to 331ci with a Crower solid lifter cam, rare 1968 Mondello posi-flow heads, 11:1 compression, dual quads, and more. On the dyno it made 403hp/388 ft lbs at 6,000 rpm and was still climbing. Stahl fenderwell headers are the original units from Fred Anderson's "Good In-Tension" '57 Chevy. Transmission is an aluminum case Borg Warner Super T-10 4spd with Schiefer aluminum flywheel, Lakewood scattershield, Ram racing clutch, and Hurst shifter. Too much history and documentation to list. Can be raced, shown at nostalgic events, or street driven if desired. This is a beautifully restored car with a fantastic story, a real show stopper! It is currently the only known Indy winning jr stock '57 Chevy extant. Sold on a Connecticut bill of sale with a clear Iowa title. Located in East Haddam, Connecticut. Cash, check, or wire transfer only. Message or call Greg or Dean, 860-873-1092, cell 860-575-8998.
