This fresh, professional, frame-off, custom masterpiece build was recently completed by a team of renowned builders including Vintage Steel of Northern California, House of Colors and LA Speed. This 1950 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window Resto-Mod Pick-up screams style and performance! Thousands of countless hours and over $125,000 is invested in this build. With no time spared and no expense spared, this build is absolutely spectacular with a perfect balance between elegance and hot rod.
Starting with a dry, rust free, dent free, California truck with no patch panels; everything on this magnificent Chevy 5 Window truck is either new or rebuilt. The artists' attention was focused on creating nice body lines with a clean and classic hot rod appearance. Sitting atop a custom-built chassis, the artists widened the rear fenders and narrowed the fresh Chevrolet 10 Bolt rear end of this all steel beauty to house the aggressively wide rear tires. The bed was raised and new oak flooring installed. A hand-crafted custom roll pan was added to the rear while leaving the front bumper for the classic look. All new Mustang II front suspension was added for a lowered stance, superb handling and peak performance. The steering was upgraded with a new power rack and pinion system for ease of driving. Completing the laser straight body, the House of Kolors Klassic Black finish is buffed to perfection and as smooth as glass with a deep mirror finish giving this beauty a classic look and fresh resto-mod appearance.
The stunning exterior is complimented with a truly amazing and comfortable cabin. With all new interior components, this truck's color combination exudes elegance. The new bench seat is wrapped in new, supple Italian red leather. The Italian red leather also completes the door panels, headliner and trim. All new black carpet lines the floors. The dash was painted to match the exterior with all new Dolphin gauges installed. All glass is new with the upgraded one-piece side windows and light tinting all the way around. The tilt steering column was added for comfort and a new modern Pioneer stereo was installed for your listening pleasure. Finally, the custom cherry wood steering wheel provides superb comfort and control for navigating this masterpiece.
Coming to the heart of this amazing machine, we trusted only the best. So, we turned to LA Speed. A built Chevrolet 454 cubic inch big block V-8 producing 500 hp was selected to be the powerhouse! A mild rumpy cam was selected to give enough hot rod lope without being obnoxious. A Billet Specialties serpentine system was added for fit and a cleaner look. The 454 was married to a fresh 700 R4 transmission. The firewall was smoothed to perfection and has a brilliant shine creating a mirror like finish to showcase the heart of this elegant hot rod. With the professionally built powerhouse, this beauty has the right balance of power, responsiveness and speed to be a racer, yet it is still built to drive and enjoy.
On the corners, is an all new staggered set of fully polished American Racing Wheels hosting 15"x7" in the front and 15"x10" in the rear. The wheels are wrapped in all new rubber with 235/60/15 tires in the front and 28X12X15 tires in the rear. Finally, for safety, the brake system has been upgraded with a new components and power disk brakes for added safety and stopping power.
This beauty is still a trailer queen coming out of a fresh build and only has 61 test miles on the clock since completion. This 1950 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window Resto-Mod Pick-up is absolutely stunning and ready to win shows and be enjoyed.
