Description for Chevrolet Other 1951
The first impression of this 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Convertible is that it's an awesome flame-kissed custom machine. But it's so much more. With a big V8 under the hood, upgraded suspension, and A/C interior, this is the ultimate cool cruiser. Take a long look at the body. These Chevys had some of the best curves of the '50s, and the sheetmetal is looking great. It only gets smoother on a custom that has shaved door handles, frenched... radio antenna, and trim expertly eliminated. There's plenty of great chrome with the bumpers, polished smoothie wheels, and the toothy grin of the grille. And the whitewalls are a great classic touch. Of course, what really grabs your attention are the flames. They have the same yellow-orange intensity as the sun, and it really is that vivid, because this custom application was refreshed this year. It's a beautifully sinister look as the flames consume the front end and stretch all the way to the rear fenders. And the green pinstriping gives this an awesome detail dividing line against the slick black. The black roof has a taut look of quality when it's in place, and since it has a new electric motor and lines, it comes down with a confident smoothness. This reveals an awesome all-black interior. It has a classic look with the art deco dash as well as a hint of tuck and roll flair in the seats, but this is really about modern comfortable cruising. That's why you have nice upgrades like an AM/FM/CD stereo w/aux input and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning (keeping you cool even with the top-down in the summer.) Plus, it has driver-oriented upgrades like the Lokar shifter, auxiliary gauges, and a Lecarra sports steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. The engine bay is just as ready to show off as the rest of the car. The flames painted on the air topper and etched into the valve covers add flair to this tidy and polished setup. And this one earns all those flames with a hot 406 cubic-inch V8. Not only is this a big displacement for a lightweight small block, but it also has performance upgrades like a mild cam, Holley four-barrel carburetor, and headers feeding the rumbling dual exhaust. While this makes plenty of power, they also didn't forget the right supporting components. This includes upgraded pulleys, new alternator, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan (helps keep you running cool even if you're in traffic with the A/C pumping.) More of this cool cruising attitude is seen in upgrades like the Mustang II-style independent front suspension, front disc brakes, three-speed automatic transmission, and rack & pinion power steering. This was a big restoration that resulted in a very cool street machine. Don't miss the all-around stunner. Call today!!!
