Description for Chevrolet Chevelle 1971
The single-minded mission of a dedicated group of professional muscle car builders exhibits itself frequently in high-quality restomods, and this 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Restomod is an excellent example. Beautifully finished, it demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship and consistent quality throughout that's truly impressive, giving it a mild custom look combined with modern tech underneath that transforms the car's entire personality. The first impression you get when you see this Chevelle is that it looks sleek. Not... just clean and shiny, but almost as if the wind had smoothed over the timeless GM A-body design. Maybe it's the vivid blue paint, painted-on silver stripes, and the cowl induction hood, but this car just looks fast standing still. The pros that did the bodywork took their time and got it right, because it's straight and expertly finished with a fantastic gloss to the two-stage paint. It's not a perfect trailer queen, but about as nice as higher-end driver quality muscle cars get. There's a blacked-out grille up front, complete with SS emblems, but otherwise it's devoid of any further badging or script, but just about anybody will recognize the four round tail lights and twin pipes out back. The chrome bumpers are new, as is the weather-stripping and grille, all adding to the car's brilliant presentation that will attract a lot of fans out at the cruise-in as well as on the highway. The bottom line? This sucker looks amazing! Save for a few upgrades, the interior of this Chevelle is original and still presents well, if only to further validate that claim that this Chevy has always been well cared for. Vinyl bench seats with cloth inserts are presentable, and even though they show some age and could stand an update to match the level of the exterior, the cabin is still a comfortable place to be. The original door panels, steering wheel, dash pad, and headliner all show some wear as well, but aftermarket parts are easily accessible and upgrades would be certainly welcomed. Inside the dash are new digital gauges that now monitor the engine's vitals better than the stock units ever could, and a modern R134a A/C system blows hard and cold inside the cabin. There's also a custom stereo system that was installed, headed-up by the AM/FM/CD/AUX/Satellite stereo that manages the speakers in the kick panels, package tray, and the subwoofers and amplifier in the trunk. And speaking of the trunk, it's spacious and neatly trimmed with custom bulkheads and plush carpets that give it a finished look without killing all the storage space. That's also an Air Ride canister back there, but the system was discontinued when the bags underneath were replaced with coil springs. Modern technology makes this Chevelle feel decades younger and it's likely that the 5.3L LS V8 living under the hood today is a lot more powerful than anything that would have been there originally. It's a neat fit and the installation is super sanitary, retaining the original fuel injection system so it starts easily and idles properly, even when it's cold, and this sucker pulls like a freight train out on the road thanks to an LS6 intake manifold and 706 heads. The hoses and wiring are routed neatly to keep the engine bay super-sanitary, the A/C system features new components throughout, and the giant Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keeps the burly engine operating at cool temperatures. The 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission makes this car feel more like a modern Camaro than a vintage Chevelle, and with towering overdrive gears and EFI, fuel economy is pretty darned impressive, too. Bilstein shocks are all around, CPP control arms are up front, and lowering springs set the stance, while power steering and power 4-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors make driving this Chevy an absolute dream. Out back, a heavy-duty 10-bolt axle shrugs off the horsepower, and mid-length headers feed an X-pipe Magnaflow dual exhaust that provides a rumbling soundtrack that turns heads at any RPM point. With a perfect stance, it has staggered polished Ridler wheels wearing 245/40/18 front and 275/35/20 radials stuffing the wheel wells for an awesome look. If you're tired of the same-old, same-old, perhaps this slick blue Chevelle will speak to you. There's more than one way to get noticed, so call today!
