Description for Chevrolet C-10 1972
Here is my 1972 Chevy Cheyenne long wheel base pickup truck that I have owned for about 3 years. First of all, lowballers need not apply and keep your 30% discount offers to yourself. It is a nice driver quality truck. This is a 2 owner truck. I purchased it from the deceased owners two middle aged sons. The 350 motor and 350 turbo transmission have never been over hauled as far as they remembered. Their father (the original owner) had passed away about 30 years ago. The truck has 106,000 miles on it. I had it repainted to the original hugger orange and white color and both rocker panels and one cab corner were replaced. They used it for feeding cattle some and the bed has pitting in the floor and one lower control arm has a dent but does not affect the handling of the truck. I had the front end aligned and replaced a tie rod end but the truck drives good. I was going to have the painter put bed coating in it but he had gotten sick and did not get to it after he painted it. The paint is not perfect but very presentable. There are some imperfections in the paint so if you are a body or paint man you can find the spots. If you want to drive a decent looking truck then this may be for you. The left hood hinge does not fully go down but may need some sort of adjusting or replace the hinge. The heater core is unhooked as it had started leaking this summer. The speedometer needs a small plastic cog gear in the end of transmission for the speedometer to work. It worked before but had a fast speed due to larger tires that I had installed. I drove it the way it was probably 1000 miles around here without speedometer. It has a transmission leak as I have put probably a quart in it in the last 3 years. It does sometime have a real light puff of smoke when first started but it hasn't done that in several months. You have to pump the throttle when not started after a couple weeks. I drive it 60 miles many times every so often. When it is hot out the oil pressure is very low when setting in a fast food drive thru line. It does not knock though. A/C is all there but I never tried to get it operating. It would need changed over to new Freon. Tires are 3 years old and so are other parts that have been replaced. New radiator, new seat cover, new carpet, new dash bezel, new trim. (one piece at the door is bent at the front due to sliding forward and opening the door). I have a new one but not installed yet. New windshield but trim is not replaced on windshield due to wrong rubber installed at window installers. Side windows need new weather stripping. Doors close good but tail gate is stiff to open and close. Trim catches on the edge of tailgate. The middle of tail gate at handle where metal stops is rigid and needs a small piece of trim there to cover. The other glass is original. Very small rust spots that should clean up on the 3 year old Cragar wheels. I tried to mention everything I could but I am sure I forgot some things. I did have all new brakes replaced. Sold as is where is. To be paid for within 7 days or arrangements made. $200 non refundable by Paypal within 2 days. I am not accepting any credit cards. If close, you are welcome to come drive it. If you buy it please go through with the purchase of it. You will not be disappointed. I have not seen many of these any cheaper. It is not a show truck as I said. If you want a nice driver then this may be for you or a first time driver for a teen. Insurance is 0 deductible and very reasonable through Hagarty. I pay around $140 a year for $12000 coverage on it. Listed now locally. Can end auction at any time. Serious buyers only. Thank you for looking. Price is firm.
