Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1955
We have been dealing in high-end classic cars, muscle cars & Hot Rods for nearly 20 years, and we have literally sold dozens of Tri-Five Chevys during our tenure in this business. We have had the pleasure of owning many show-winning examples that received top-honors at national level car events all across the country. That being said, the car that I am presenting here today is in a league all its own. It is simply the finest, most perfect example... that I have ever owned or ever even seen.'Red Hills Rods & Classics' is very proud to offer you this absolutely amazing 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Pro-Touring Show Car masterpiece, the result of a five-year no-expense spared build where every single detail was thoroughly thought out & meticulously planned. Sweat, blood, tears & countless man-hours were spent creating the absolutely 'perfect' 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. She now sits on our showroom floor here in Saint George, Utah, w/ only 220 test-miles driven since completion earlier this year. The build started after locating a super clean '55 Bel Air that most people would have been happy with 'as is', but big plans were in the works for a spectacular build that would blow the minds of any Bowtie fanatic. The complete nut & bolt rotisserie restoration commenced w/ well over a year spent on the bodywork alone, making sure that every square inch of the car was laser straight and that all body panels aligned perfectly w/ precise gaps throughout. This work was photographically documented throughout the entire process. The firewall was set back 3" to accommodate the Chevy Big-Block motor, and a 2.5" mini-tub was done on the rear wheel-wells to accommodate the fat rubber. The car was then finished in Brickyard Red Metallic, which looks simply phenomenal and has a deep cherry red hue that changes color depending on the lighting. I have never seen another Tri-Five Chevy painted this color, and I must say that it is beyond striking. The paint was then buffed & polished to a flawless mirror-like shine that literally explodes in the sunlight. All of the original chrome & stainless trim was then re-chromed, polished or replaced, and is in 'show quality' condition throughout. The glass is all-new and 100% flawless all the way around. The body was then mounted on a new Art Morrison chassis, featuring Strange Engineering aluminum coil-over shocks, AGR High Performance power steering rack (15:1 steering ratio), 4 Link Bar suspension, Strange Engineering custom axles (31 spline), Strange Engineering S-Series 9" differential (3.70 Ratio), Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes, stainless steel fuel cell w/ electric fuel pump, stainless steel brake lines, and on & on. The 3" stainless steel custom exhaust system was hand built featuring Flowmaster Hushpower Pro-Series mufflers w/ electric cut-outs. With the touch of a button she goes from tame street cruiser to drag strip terror, sending chills down your spine! Please take a close look at the undercarriage photos that I have provided and I think that you will agree that absolutely no corners were cut & no stone was left unturned when it comes to quality & detail.Open the driver's door and you will find a one-of-a-kind custom interior featuring a high-quality tan leather throughout w/ Ostrich inserts, suede upper door frames, suede headliner, German square-weave carpeting, body colored custom dash w/ frenched in Auto Meter gauges, custom-built body colored console w/ frenched in Auto Meter tachometer & custom mounted Hurst shifter, Ididit billet aluminum tilt steering column, billet steering wheel wrapped w/ Ostrich skin, power windows front & back, billet power window buttons, Lokar billet pedals, billet door handles & window cranks, Vintage Air Conditioning & Heat w/ billet air vents, and an Alpine CDE-123 CD MP3/WMA Receiver w/ Bluetooth including (8) Hertz High Energy audio speakers custom mounted in front kick panels & rear side panels. The Alpine receiver, Vintage AC controls & the button for the electric cut-outs are concealed in the front console for a much cleaner appearance. This custom interior is absolutely gorgeous from front to back, and is extremely comfortable as well as highly functional. All components are in perfect working order including gauges, lights, blinkers, power windows, air conditioning, sound system, etc. There are absolutely no issues whatsoever. The trunk is beautifully finished in matching German square-weave carpet, a tan leather rear panel w/ the embossed 'American Steel' logo, and the trunk-mounted battery inside a stainless steel container. Rather than covering the rear inner quarter panels, they left them exposed to see the beautiful 20-gauge steel, which looks outstanding. Now, let's get to the really good stuff, shall we?Nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the 572ci Chevrolet Big-Block motor featuring a Hillborn Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, which delivers approximately 670 hp. A short list of features includes: old-school style aluminum valve covers w/ Chevrolet logo, March Performance billet serpentine system including billet alternator, billet AC compressor & billet power steering unit, Art Morrison custom big-block stainless steel headers, custom aluminum radiator w/ billet overflow reservoir, billet fan shroud, billet power steering reservoir, chrome hood springs, chrome bolts & hardware throughout the engine bay, etc. The 20-gauge steel metal work on the inner fenders & inner quarter panels in the trunk is absolutely gorgeous, and really adds to the overall appearance. Please look closely at the photos of the engine bay & motor to see how much attention was spent making sure everything was done right. The monster 572ci power-plant is linked to a Tremec TKO600 5-Speed transmission, including a McLeod SFI approved flywheel (168 tooth), McLeod SFI scattershield & McLeod 12" Street Performance clutch. The power is then transferred to the Strange Engineering 9" rear-end w/ 3.70 gears. This Bel Air fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs flawlessly in every way! When you apply your right foot firmly, I promise that you will feel every single one of those 670 horsepower that she delivers! As far as drive-ability goes, it just does not get any better. The steering & braking is top-notch, so driving around town is effortless, and when you get her on the freeway she tracks straight & true, just as you would expect from a build of this caliber. There are absolutely no rattles, vibrations or unwanted noises whatsoever. She is just as tight as they come, period. This car also has the perfect stance, sitting on Billet Specialties Classic polished wheels (17" x 8" up front & 17" x 9.5" on the rear) wrapped w/ Toyo Proxes ST performance radials (225/55/R17 up front & 275/55/R17 on the rear). You can walk around this amazing 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air a hundred times and you will never find a bad angle, as she sits just right.I truly feel that the photos speak for themselves, and as I previously mentioned, I have never seen a finer, more perfect example of a high-end 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air in my entire life! If you are an avid classic car fanatic who has the means to purchase a vehicle such as this, I promise you that if you fly in to see this amazing car in person, you will buy it!
