Description for Chevrolet Blazer 1972
Up for bid with no reserve is this 1972 K-5 Blazer. 4X4 with 4 speed manual transmission. Disc brakes on the front. Very good candidate for restoration or go 4 wheeling tomorrow (with a new battery). Original paint. never crashed. No body work done. Odometer shows 80243. 6 but may have turned over. Original 350 was replaced with a 454 big block. I don't know what year the engine is. The engine runs smooth. doesn't smoke and has lots of power. Currently registered and has a clear title. I'm listing this Blazer for a friend. You can call him (Eric) at 626-533-9104 if you have any questions. Here's what I know of the vehicle. He bought it about 6 months ago. before that it sat for who knows how long. The top was off the truck and was a few blocks away. When the old owner delivered it the top was torn up. The back window broke off and it got a few cracks across the top near the back of the doors. The rest of the back window is here. I'm told it can all be repaired. When he bought it. nbsp;we put a battery in it. it started right up. It didn't smoke a bit even with diluted old gas. Last week we drove a few miles down the dirt roads around here. Ran it about an hour. no problems. Temperature gauge warmed up and stayed within range like it should and no obvious leaks. Oil pressure gauge works is good and pressure was within limits. No bad or obvious oil leaksGauges all work. as well as the lights and wipers. 4 Wheel drive works fine. Never tried the aftermarket radio. (Radio hole has not been cut out). Seems to drive just like it should. Brakes and steers good. The engine runs very smooth and has lots of power. Now for the bad stuff. The throw out bearing makes a little noise until you step on the clutch pedal. Not real bad but it Will need replacing sometime down the road. There are scraps. scratches. dings and dents on the body. none of which are very bad by themselves. but there are quite a few. I showed all of them in the pictures but some are hard to see. ABSOLUTLY NO "BONDO" on this K-5 Blazer. There is some rust but not as bad as most Blazers I've looked at. We removed the carpeting to see/show all the rust. Drivers side floor has bumpy rust and 3 small holes the size of a pencil or smaller by your left foot. Drivers rocker panel has been replaced. Passenger side floor is not quite as bad as the driver side (that's just water in the top right in the picture of the floor). Passenger rocker has been replaced. Either end of that has been patched with sheet metal riveted on. Rust at the back behind the rocker and above the sill plate. It's not as bad as it looks in the picture. some of what you see is carpet. Just a small amount of rust on the passenger quarter right at the back of the door (shown). I don't see any other rust other than surface rust. The bed has a square hole where someone cut for access to the fuel sender. strapped back in place with screws. Other than that it is in great condition. Missing a couple of knobs on the dash. (lights and wipers). Tires are old and cracking but have lots of tread and have been holding air. Will need full maintenance and have all fluids changed. I've tried to point out anything and everything I could think of. I'm sure I missed some things that may or may not be important.
