Description for Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1957
1957 210 Post Sedan. This Actually started out as a very rare. optioned car. Originally it was ordered Marina Blue. 6 cylinder. 3 speed on the column with the full Belaire package. This car is one of 535 produced according to the trim code. The gentleman that I purchased the car from in 1995 had the car for several years. He had a car collection and a Business that rented and or leased cars to the movie business. He had mentioned that this vehicle had been in several movies over the years. This car is an original California car with its original CA plates. As for the current state of the car. the car had been frame off restored in 1999. The car is assembled with as many NOS or super clean original parts as possible; there is no rust in the car whatsoever. The fenders are solid original GM with no rust the only metal work was to fill in the antenna hole. The doors are solid rust free. bondo free. GM . The quarter panels have been repaired with Dan Chuck repair panels . The floors are solid no rust period…. 1. The car’s was frame off restored…During the restoration process the frame had been completely stripped to bare metal . lasted. and powder coated. 2. The leaf spring mounts have been relocated to inside the actual frame to allow for a wider tire. 3. The body of the car has completely been stripped to bare metal. The back half of the car has had mini tubs installed in a way that still allowed the use of a full functioning back seat. while allowing tires up to 13 inches wide without altering the rear quarter panels. Currently the tires are approximately 12” wide. The car has also been up graded with a fuel cell. 4. The rear end is a Ford 9 inch that has been slightly narrowed. The rear gear ratio is 4-10 it has genuine Ford rear disk brakes . The original springs are replaced with a set of new multi leaf springs from GM’s original manufacturer in Canada. 5. The front end has been completely rebuilt; staying with somewhat of the original configuration it has the original lower control arms and upgraded CCP upper arms. Disk Brakes with what I recall 2 inch drop spindle. and close ratio power steering box as well. 6. The Motor is a Gm 400 block. 30 over. The block has been magnafluxed. hot-tanked. shot peened. Lower end is ARP studded. The Block has been BHJ decked. squared. line bored. and torque plate honed. The Crank is a scat de-stroker. It’s 3. 484 stroke gives you a nice combo of a big bore short stroke that still has a net displacement of 377. 92 inches . The Rods are a good quality H beam. The lower end is completely balanced. Compression is 9. 8 with Ross piston’s The Top end is bolted down with ARP head bolts. Sporting Dart Angle plug Heads and Harland sharp Roller Rockers. I forget the cam company’s name but she is sporting a full roller cam with somewhere around a 530 lift and guide plates. Fuel is delivered through a 750 cfm Holly completely Reworked By the Carb Shop in Riverside California. The carb is filled by a Holly blue electric pump and regulator. 7. The transmission is a GM turbo 350 completely gone thru built with all the greatest parts u can get. Stronger sprag. manual valve body. The Torque converter was built custom for the motor it stalls at around 2900-3200 8. It’s a nice car to drive. the combo is a powerful strong running unit that does not load up burn your eyes and make you cry. It can be driven under any circumstances around town. or on the highway with dependability while still getting decent MPG and not shattering parts. This particular motor has approximately 5000 miles on its build. and it does not leak a drop of oil. Run Hot. etc…9. The interior is all original. Seats. door panels. etc… That have tastefully been redone in the two-tone velour that u see. The Gauges are Dakota Digital. I have all the original gauges for the car as well as some extra trim pieces that will come with it. The steering Colum does tilt the shifter is a Hurst Quarter stick. This car had been a real nice daily driver for me until a few years ago. Unfortunately I have so many passions in cars I cannot afford to house or drive all of them. The vent window chrome is pealing a little bit on both sides that is the only real issue the car has at this time. 10. If you have any Questions please shoot me an email I will gladly walk around the car and answer them. Buyer is responsible for shipping however I would gladly trailer the car to a meeting point or your home or office for a pre negotiated amount. Tom . You can contact me at area code 805–965 4723
